Hi folks, unfortunately I have the same problem. So, did you remove the file jbpm.jdpl.hbm.xml containing this bad entity link or any other file? Another work around seems to be the following: copy the missing class org.jbpm.pvm.internal.model.ExecutionImpl from the old 4.0RC1-jar to the newer one. The jbpm.jpdl.hbm.xml file should be deleted, the JpdlExecution class has been removed from 4.0. jbpm.hibernate.cfg.xml in the examples folder does not have a reference to the hbm file that you mentioned, so looks like it might be something that is there, but not being used?
