[JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Re: Facing a Session problem after deploying my application
My kind appreciations for your reply. If I deploy the same application application on JBoss3.0.0, The deploys happens successfully and the application also works fine. but when I'm trying to deploy the same application on JBoss3.2.3 with Apache Tomcat4.1, It throws the error I have mentioned earlier. I am not able to figure out the correct reason. Is it because of the Tomcat integration? or the deployment happens differently in JBoss3.2.3? Do I need to change any configuration files? looking forward for your reply. Hi! I'm trying to deploy an .ear file that contains several EJB modules, two web archives and a J2EE application client. According to the log files, I believe that the initial processing of .jar files happens in the above order (state: CONSTRUCTED). But the actual processing (create step?) of the .jar files seems to happen in more or less random order. Sometimes the deployment succeeds as the EJB modules are processed before the J2EE application client, but often it fails with the above error message. I have listed the ejb-links inside the J2EE application client's META-INF/application-client.xml. It shouldn't be the problem as the deployment sometimes is a success. The client also has a file META-INF/jboss-client.xml that specifies the client jndi-name. When the deployment succeeds, I can use all clients (stand-alone and web applications) normally. If the deployment fails, I can re-try by touching the .ear file again and again. Eventually after 1-10 retries the deployment will succeed. Unfortunately trying to re-deploy the application over and over again doesn't solve the problem in a production environment. You cannot rely on JBoss starting automatically if the deployment may fail at startup. JBoss version is 3.2.3 running on a Linux box. Any ideas what could be wrong? Please let me know if you need more information. Thanks in advance! [JBoss-user] [J2EE Design Patterns] - let's discuss my application architecture, and give me your o
hello we have several internal systems that are within the same lan and want to communicate with several external systems that may be in the other buildings by using the release line.i am now considering the architecture for the project, and have got an immature blueprint, please help me to make it more perfect by give me your opinions, the scenario as: within the lan, there are several systems that are developed by using different languages, let's suppose they are two(named internal1 and internal2),the two systems need to communicate with other two external systems(named external1 and external2) that are also developed by using different languages.all of the communications are bi-direction.there are several combinations: 1 internal1 <--> internal2 2 internal1 <--> external1 or external2 3 internal2 <--> external1 or external2 in my project, the timelimit is critical,as short as possible. according to the mentioned requirements,i decide to develop a infomation exchanging platform by using java which sit in the MIDDLE of the internal and external systems and WITHIN the lan,act as information dispatcher or coordinator, both of the internal system and external system communicate with it only.considering the multi-language and time-critical feature,i choose the way of socket communication among the systems and design a set of xml format internal protocol.otherwise,i think the message middleware are also needed within my project as message buffer.when i deepen into the detailed designing,i get some confusions, let us discuss them as followiing: 1 if is the socket the good solution for my project?how can i assign the ports?because of the introduction of the information exchanging platform into my project, the communication combination is simplified to "internal system<-->info exchange platform" and "external system<-->info exchange platform",the crucial point for the port designing is how to assign the port in the info exchange platform, that is SERVER socket port.in my designing,i plan to assign different port for each subsystem.thus, the devleopment to the info exchange platform is simplified, that is:when the message comes,i don't need to analyse the xml message to check which system it comes from.but some people suggest me to open ONE port to all the internal systems, and ANOTHER port to all the external sysetms.i don't know which solution is better?if are there some regulations that concern about the socket port assigning? 2 if is the information exchanging platform needed?some one suggest that subsystems can communicate with each other directly, the coordinating platform is not needed.but i think, from the EAI point of view, there should be a adapter between the internal system and external system. 3 where should i put the message queue server?and if is the mom needed?i plan to use the mq between the exchange platform and external systems ONLY,and it is also within the lan,in my designing,i config two queue for EACH external system, one for incoming message and other for outgoing message,to each queue,i assign a message listener to execute different operations on its "onMessage" method, that is:when the message come from internal system, the exchange platform send them to the exact OUTGOING queue according to the destination of the message, then the listener of the queue call the socket of the according external system and send the message to it.otherwise, when the external system need to send the message to internal system,it call the exact socket port in the exchange platform that is assigned to it as mentioned above, the platform accept the msg,and send them to the exact incoming queue, then the listener deal with the msg and send them to the internal destination.in this solution,i put the mq behind the socket, but someone give me another suggestion, that is i directly put the message queue between the exchange platform and the external systems instead of using the socket as the front-end,all of them send the message to the queue and listen the queue, but i think,in such solution, the external system must listen the queue REMOTELY,is it a good way? also, somebody tell me that the exchange platform and remote external system can communicate each other DIRECTLY by socket, the message queue is not needed,i don't make sure if the mq is necessary in my situation?and what is the benefit and disadvantage? as for the communication between the internal system and info exchange platform,i think the mq is NOT needed, they can communicate each other directly by socket, furthermore,in my designing,i make them connect to each other FOREVER,that is i don't close the socket after each message transferation,as mentioned above in the issue of the socket assigning, every port in the exchange platform is DEDICATED,that means the port is specific to each system,so that they don't need to create and close socket connection frequently, that will make the program more performant, but if i use one port
[JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - question about classpath
hello: in my servlet,i have following clause: properties.load(this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("/test.properties")); i put the "test.properties" file under the "classes" directory,it works well, but when i put it in the "lib" directory, the servlet throw null point exception, and can't find the properties file, why?i think that both the "classes" and "lib" directories are within the classpath. otherwise,i find that all the files in the lib directory are jar file,so that i guess if i package the properties file within the jar file then put it in the lib directory, maybe it should work.who knows? other strange thing is: i use jboss as the app server,if i put the properties file in the "%jboss_home%/bin" directory,my code could find it,but when i check the jboss_classpath cofiguration within the "run.bat" file,it don't include the bin directory,i wonder how the jboss put the bin directory in its classpath? [JBoss-user] [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - Re: Security context propagation from web client to ejb
This is why I chose tokenized security instead of JAAS, which I view as a work in progress. You can pass a user session token as a simple parameter to any EJB method from any Java client. With one line of code, your EJB method can validate that the user has access to the business method. The line of code will throw an AccessDenied exception if the user does not have access, which your client framework can handle in a standardized way. No container context is required for tokenized security. Indeed, it is even J2EE vendor independent, so your WebSphere clients can call JBoss EJBs. [JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Beginner needs help for porting j2ee application to jboss
Hello, I am trying to deploy and run a j2ee application on jboss 4.0.0DR3 and I have several questions: 1. Where should I copy my ear file? server\all\deploy, server\default\deploy or server\minimal\deploy? 2. What values should I use for the following constants: SECURITY_PRINCIPAL and SECURITY_CREDENTIALS bearing in mind that I was never asked by jboss to set up a password or a user; I simply copied the directory on my file system. 3. Once my ear has been successfully deployed what is the url and port I need to type in the address bar to access my web app? Thanks in advance, Julien Martin. [JBoss-user] [Installation & Configuration] - Re: Error installing JSTL 1.1
You should check your web.xml file to ensure that the xml elements are in order. (this also goes for all of the deployment xml files). For example: If you get an error such as the following in deployment: ...The content of element type "" must match "(?,,*,)" .. Then the sub-elements should be put in the same order as the error message. Should deploy now. +++OAC+++ View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3835097#3835097 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3835097 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: SourceForge.net Broadband Sign-up now for SourceForge Broadband and get the fastest 6.0/768 connection for only $19.95/mo for the first 3 months! http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=2562&alloc_id=6184&op=click ___ JBoss-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jboss-user

Where's the link with Jboss and persistence ? JBoss supports compound primary keys according to the spec. Ask Lomboz forum for your problem. [JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Deployment of an lib jar fails on Solaris
Hi, I' ve a problem on deploying a rar with an embedded lib. Always when I deploy the rar on Solaris 8/Jboss 3.2.3 I get an Exception during deployment of my ear and the whole ear won't deploy. "Could not read dd; - nested throwable: (java.net.SocketException: Network is unreachable)". I don't know why jboss tries to deploy this jar in ./lib/commons-net-1.1.0.jar. On my Windows machine I don't get this Exception. Am I missing something? Well there is no deployment descriptor (is this the meaning of "dd" in the exception message?) in the jar but why does Jboss try to deploy this jar? I don' t know if its necessary. The manifest of the rar looks like this: Manifest-Version: 1.0 Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.6.0 Created-By: 1.4.2_04-b05 (Sun Microsystems Inc.) Class-Path: lib/commons-net-1.1.0.jar Thanks a lot for help!
