Can you try replacing the 127.0.0.1 IP address in your /etc/hosts file with the
public IP address of the Linux server instead of the loopback address.

[JBoss-user] [J2EE Design Patterns] - I am very new to it and learning

2005-03-19 Thread vikasbhandari
Here What I have done so far :
I downloaded JDK1.5 from Sun.Java.com , and I downloaded JBoss from
JBoss.org. I have downloaded the Following version :

jboss-4.0.1sp1.zip

I installed JBoss, and tried to run the Batch files in the Bin Folder. Well the
first strange thing we don't have Deploy.jar files in that.. Not sure why??? I
tried to run the Twiddle batch file. First It said to set Java_home, I set the
Java_home as set java_home=c:/jdk1.5 which is a vaid folder. Now I am getting
error Exception in thread main java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: \bin\java..

One more thing is confusing me, that after creating the Class files, dont we
have any GUI/deploytool to deploy the jar files like we do have ion Weblogic??
I dont know much about it

Waiting for the answer and curious for your Help :)

Is the page not even changing when you click the link?

[JBoss-user] [HTTPD, Servlets JSP] - JSP is treating an invocation of core tag as static text and

2005-03-19 Thread robr
I have written the following simple jsp that tries to use a few core tags.

%@ page contentType=text/html;charset=UTF-8 language=java %
%@ taglib uri=http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core; prefix=c %
%@ taglib uri=http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core; prefix=c-rt %

%!
  String[] names = {Ruth, Matilda, Millicent, Micah};
%

  Chapter 2 - Embedding Code

H1List of people/H1

  Name
  c:forEach var=person items=%= names %
 c:out value=$person /
  /c:forEach

I get the following output. The $person variable gets treated as a string
instead of using the value it represents.

List of people
Name
$person
$person
$person
$person

I have tried for a week to get this to work. I am using JBOSS 3.2.5, JSTL 1.1,
and INTELLIJ 4.5.1.

I completed the following.

1. I have integrated JBOSS into intellij.
2. I can already use servlets and JSP with in my Intellij environment.
3. I have downloaded JSTL 1.1 and moved the two .jar files (jstl.jar and
standard.jar) to the the jboss/server/default/deploy folder.
4. I copied all eight .tld files into the web_inf folder of my IntelliJ web
module.
5. Modified my web.xml file to include all the TLD files as follows for all
eight.

taglib-urihttp://java.sun.com/jstl/fmt/taglib-uri
taglib-location/WEB-INF/fmt.tld/taglib-location

6. Added the jstl.jar and standard.jar files to the Module Libraries in the
Libraries(Classpath) tab.

Before I did step 6 anytime I tried using jstl tags the text was set to red.
After 6 the code was able to find the tag information.

Everything compiles fine. But the tag code is being piped out like it is just a
string.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here is another try at the damn code. I replaced the with [] so the

HTML tags and you get the real code.

Here is the output I get.

It should be the names not the variable.

[JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - JMS over HTTP

2005-03-19 Thread gberish
Hi,

The EJB and JMS forums said JMS over HTTP is easy, but it still defeats me. I
hope this is simple enough to fit in them beginners forum, because I need a
simple beginning point.

MessageTest below is a client that sends and retreives a JMS message that says
Success from a Queue whose JNDI name is queue/goIn.

The type parameter in mb.setUp (int type) in main() (Where type = [REG |
HTTP]) determines whether the send and receive go over HTTP.

type = REG works fine: See Screen Print REG below the code
type = HTTP fails as shown: See Screen Print HTTP below that.

Are there some deployment xml files I need to modify?

It seems that this simple model would be useful to other new guys too, so I
hope it is as simple as the more advanced foriums say..import

[JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - DeploymentException UnknownHostException www.jboss.org

2005-03-19 Thread mzarra
I was working on some J2EE code today on my notebook and noticed that if I did
not have an internet connection that jboss would fail to start up.

Is there some way to turn off this call home feature?

Why does jboss need to call home?

Any help in this area would be appreciated

[JBoss-user] [Security JAAS/JBoss] - Re: Authentication EJB

2005-03-19 Thread jasonvenhuizen
I was able to create the LoginContext in my session bean, but after
authenticating which granted my user the proper role I still get a security
error when I try to invoke another method. Is there something I need to do to
associcate the login context with the current session?
