[JBoss-user] [Management, JMX/JBoss] - Get MBean from JBoss???

2005-06-04 Thread hsrock
Hi everyone,

I deployed a session bean on JBoss, and I saw it is managed by an MBean

In the JBoss's JMX MBean View:

MBean Name: Domain Name: jboss.j2ee
 service:  EJB
 jndiName:  TestFacadeBean
MBean Java Class: org.jboss.ejb.StatelessSessionContainer

Now, I want to get this MBean and use it's methods.
I used this code to find the MBeanServer:

ArrayList arl = MBeanServerFactory.findMBeanServer("jboss.j2ee");

but art.size() = 0 and I cannot find MBean Java Class:
org.jboss.ejb.StatelessSessionContainer

Could you tell me how I can get a particular MBean from the Agent View of JBoss.
Can I lookup it like EJBs, if can, what is it's jndiName?

Please help me,
I'm waiting for your answers.
Thanks a lot.

2005-06-04 Thread ops
Hi everyone,

For training purposes I want to demonstrate some isolation probs using Entity
Beans with CMP 2.0. I configured my MySQL-Datasource with
TRANSACTION_READ_UNCOMMITTED and I also startet the database in that mode. But
still I cannot read any uncommitted entity bean data. What is wrong? Should I
use another database? Which one supports this isolation mode?

Thanks,

Is Nukes an applikation in JBoss Portal Server?

Or is Nukes fully different and an own application only for publishing

Thx for reply,

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: Some simple user comments on RC2

2005-06-04 Thread Giorgio42

Using WinXP, JDK1.5.0_03 and MySQL 5.0.4Beta I had a similar experience as the
other guys here.

The first problem was that the user table could not be created because it uses
columns of type BIT. I replaced it with boolean and created the table manually.

After that I had the same problem (missing role).
It seems the BSH deployer script needed to be executed again, but doesn't.

With EJB2 I can modify the column mapping by editing the standard jboss xml
configuration files (standardjboss...). How can I adapt the column mapping to
MySQL5 with this hibernate-based architecture?

Cheers,
Georg

Sorry for such a late answer (gomen nasai).

The implementation of the method i'm using to retrieve the constructor is:

private static MethodInfo getTheConstructor (

{
 CtConstructor ctor = ctclazz.getConstructor (methodSig);
 return ctor.getMethodInfo ();

[JBoss-user] [Installation & Configuration] - Multiple domain names (Virtual Domain names) on JBoss AS

2005-06-04 Thread onyii5119
Hi All,

I have done an extensive research/search on the
internet but did not get a suitable solution on how to
configure multiple domain names (Virtual Domain names)
on JBoss AS (running Tomcat) in a Linux environment. I
do not want to use multiple IPs on the same server.

Essentially, I have two domain names MyDomain1.com and
MyDomain2.com. I want to be able to deploy different
ear applications on the server so that clients of
MyDomain1.com can enter http://www.MyDomain1.com in a
browser and start Application1. Similarly, clients of
MyDomain2.com can enter http://www.MyDomain2.com in a
browser and start Application2. Application1 is
completely independent of Application2 and belong to
two different organizations.

I have already set up a DNS server that resolves the
two domains to the same Ip address.

Has any body done anything like that? Is it even
possible to do so in a JBoss (with Tomcat) AS?

If you have a solution, kindly let me know how you did
it or you could point me to a good reference document.

I am using JBoss 4.0.2 and Fedora Linux kernel 2.4.26
in a dedicated server hosted by an ISP.

Thanks,

Jonathan

[JBoss-user] [EJB/JBoss] - Re: How can I integrate Eclipse,Tomcat,mysql with Jboss-4.0

2005-06-04 Thread darranl
Have you tried using the documentation or using the Wiki? This question is too
broad to be answered in a forum.

You will get more help with specific problems rather than very broad questions.

I would suggest that you start with the 'JBoss Eclipse IDE' link to the right
of the page and follow the documentation to get JBoss and Eclipse together.

Deploying datasources is documented in numerous documents from the getting
started guide to the administrators guide. For the moment I would recommend
you don't touch the default datasource and just deploy a new datasource to use
for your own persistence, once you understand JBoss better then you can switch
to use MySQL for all persistence.

Is there a reason for the specific Tomcat version, JBoss 4.0.0 already has
Tomcat 5 bundled.

As long as the server uses the endorsing mechanism I don't know of an elegant

You can see a not-so-elegant solution here:

I don't even know if it's ok from the "j2ee 1.4 certification" point of view to
replace the endorsing mechanism with plain'ol'jars in the classpath.
But is there a better way?

[JBoss-user] [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - Is Using DatabaseServerLoginModule w/o rolesQuery Okay ?

I'm starting to use JBossSX for my webapp.
I'm using DatabaseServerLoginModule for user authentication.

However, at login, I'm getting javax.security.auth.login.FailedLoginException:
No matching username found in Principals.

Therefore, I'd like to ask if it is okay if I use only principalsQuery without
rolesQuery ? This is because my database does not have columns for roles and
rolesgroup. I don't know if the absence of rolesQuery causes the exception.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

2005-06-04 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Any change to the jars used in the j2ee 1.4 certification invalidates the
certification. The consequenes are simply that different behavior may be seen,
and tests that passed under jaxp1.2 may fail under jaxp1.3. Its your choice to
upgrade the xml parser.

[JBoss-user] [JBoss.NET] - Re: Problem accessing .NET webservice from servlets

2005-06-04 Thread hugoboss
I'm using default conf from jboss 4.0.2.

I'm trying to access a .net webservice with java classes generated with
WSDL2Java.
I've created a simple java test class that I can run from eclipse to try the
webservice which works.

I have a j2ee application with a service that is trying to use the java files
generated with WSDL2Java. When I call the service from within my code, I have
the following error on my jboss console : (NB : I've read this post and put
jboss-net-client.jar in my server/default/lib

Since you say you can secure the jmx-console with a similar setup, the only
obvious problem would be an incorrect jboss-web.xml that is not generating an

There is no point to including the ClientLoginModule in the server
login-config.xml as every context that performs authentication propagates the
associated security context. Most likely you are not under a secured resource
path in the web app and there is no security context to propagate.

I deploy the above JSP in a WAR file. The deployment goes fine, but when I try
to access the page I get the following exception:

  | I noticed that this is a problem only with Tomcat 5.5 (5.5 sar). Infact, I
replaced the 5.5 sar with 5.0 and the page works fine.
  |
  | The WAR is deployed with the latest version of jstl and standard jars and
it works perfectly fine with Tomcat 5.
  |
  | Did anyone incurred in the same problem?

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Portal] - RC2 is not worked out

2005-06-04 Thread caoxg
I'm using JBoss 4.0.2, mysql 4.1.9, JBP2 RC2, using the binary version and a
clean jboss 4.0.2 AS.

first of all ,the setup process is much improved, now it will create the
database automaticaly, very good.

I have very happy experence with Mambo, a php CMS system, so after I login into
jbp2, I try to do the following:

1,How to add a new menu item to the global menu? e.g. I want to add new menu
'Read Me First' and 'Donate' to articles in the CMS.

2, how to create a new screen 'block'? e.g. i'd like to add a newsflash to the
site, just write the greeting message.

4,how to define the layout of the portlets? e.g. how to move the 'login block'
to the right side of the window, and the newsflash to the top.

5, How to set the permission of a special portlet to user? I mean, to let a
special role (like CMS administrator) to see a red newsflash, while anonymous
see a blue newsflash;

for the last question, when I click 'admin->AdminCMSPortlet -> Global Read ->
Add/Remove roles' and check 'User' and 'Anonymous' and click save, an exception
is throw as following :

[JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Re: Tutorial on J2EE using JBOSS-4.x, Eclipse-3.x, Lomboz-3.

2005-06-04 Thread jbosszone

Post Subject : Tutorial on J2EE using JBOSS-4.x, Eclipse-3.x, Lomboz-3.x and
PostgreSQL-8.x on Windows XP

Ref. 1 : Tutorial for building J2EE Applications using JBOSS and ECLIPSE
(Chapter 5 : BMP Entity Bean)
 http://www.tusc.com.au/tutorial/html/chap5.html

Ref. 2 : Tutorial on J2EE using JBOSS, ECLIPSE and Lomboz (Forum on Ref. 1)
 http//www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=36910

Ref. 3 : Environment in use ;
- Windows XP SP2
- J2SDK 1.4.2_08
- Eclipse 3.0.2
- JBoss 4.0.2
- Lomboz 3.0.1 + emf-sdo-runtime-2.0.0
- PostgreSQL 8.0.3 (= DefaultDS)

Followings are some notes on Chapter 5 (BMP Entity Bean) in Ref. 1

* Chapter 4 (Statefull Session Bean) has been jumped over.
* Task numbers are based on Ref. 1.
* No change has been made to the server configuration file
(jboss402postgres.server) thus far.

Task 1 : Create the Customer BMP Entity Bean
- Before start the task, make a copy of "xdoclet.xml" under MyStoreMgr/META-INF
as a backup.
- On creation of "CustomerBean", check some points before proceeding further
steps.
a. make sure the XDoclet part;/**
  | * @ejb.bean name="Customer"* jndi-name="CustomerBean"* type="BMP"
  | **/
b. comment out "ejbCreate()" and "ejbPostCreate()" methods
public abstract class CustomerBean implements javax.ejb.EntityBean {
  |
  | //  /**
  | //   *
  | //   *
  | //   * The  ejbCreate method.
  | //   *
  | //   *
  | //   *
  | //   * @ejb.create-method
  | //   *
  | //   * @generated
  | //   */
  | //  public java.lang.String ejbCreate() throws javax.ejb.CreateException {
  | //// EJB 2.0 spec says return null for CMP ejbCreate methods.
  | //// TODO: YOU MUST INITIALIZE THE FIELDS FOR THE BEAN HERE.
  | //// setMyField("Something");
  | //// begin-user-code
  | //return null;
  | //// end-user-code
  | //  }
  | //
  | //  /**
  | //   *
  | // * The container invokes this method immediately after it calls
ejbCreate.
  | //   *
  | //   *
  | //   * @generated
  | //   */
  | //  public void ejbPostCreate() throws javax.ejb.CreateException {
  | //// begin-user-code
  | //// end-user-code
  | //  }
  |
  | }
c. confirm no parts of "xdoclet.xml" are missed.
  = the lower half of xdoclet.xml might disappear on the first creation.
  = recover it from the backup file if any.

d. check xdoclet.xml for  section.
  If no "fileset" for CustomerBean.java, make it as follows;
   :
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |:
Task 2 : Create Customer's DAO Interface
: (as per the steps in Ref. 1)
Task 9 : Add a create method to the StoreAccess Bean

Task 10 : Add a Business Method in StoreAccess Bean
- After "Generate EJB Classes" (before "deploy");
  = change tag under "session" in jboss.xml to as
shown in Ref. 1.
  = add "ejb/" to CustomerLocal in tag under "session" in
ejb-jar.xml as follows;
   :
  |
ejb/CustomerLocal
Entity
  | au.com.tusc.bmp.CustomerLocalHome
  | au.com.tusc.bmp.CustomerLocal
  | Customer
  |
  |:
- Start JBoss from "Lomboz J2EE View" tag in Eclipse.
  Note : Use "Run Server" instead of "Debug Server"
  = In case of error with "Debug Server",
: click "Stop the launched server" button
: exit Eclipse
: delete MyStorePgSQL.jar file under /sever/postgres/deploy
: start Eclipse again, and then JBoss with "Run Server"

follows;

Hot deployment works, according to the logs. But the same old code still gets
executed. So, it deploys ok but the new code doesn't get loaded.
