[JBoss-user] [JBoss Portal] - Re: CMSPortlet

2005-11-13 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
indeed, CMS portlet reacts to path like /content/a/b/c.html

when the portal see that it configures the cms portlet to have a specific
render parameter equals to /a/b/c.html and it displays that.

if no render parameter is present then it will display some default content.

I think that it could be possible to make it display something specific (we
have that in 2.0 with the ContentPortlet).

I think that Roy who is in charge of that will answer better than I would.

[JBoss-user] [EJB/JBoss] - Re: Caching client ejb connections

2005-11-13 Thread triathlon98
You can cache home objects, but caching actual beans is probably problematic.
This would be good if you are sure the bean is used very often. However,
otherwise, it will probably cause exceptions. Depending on your settings the
bean will first be passivated and later removed after not being used for a
certain time. When you then try to access the bean (because of your cache), and
jboss has already removed it, exceptions will occur. IIRC bean removal will
occur after 20 minutes.

You may want to check your dns settings. Even when connecting to the server
using an ip address, it is important to have reverse dns working for that ip
address. On soms systems, this can cause sporadic (first and some intermediate)
delays if reverse dns lookup fails.

[JBoss-user] [Messaging, JMS & JBossMQ] - Re: Selector like operator don work ? It works with Webspher

2005-11-13 Thread Seleuco
I have found the solution. Let me explaning it.

The client classpath had the most obvious jar. all of them from the jboss
client directory, jnp, jbosmq-client, etc ... but it is not obvious to put the
regexp jar, which is in the jboss lib jar.

I had to debug my client code against the jboss mq source to note that the
class RegExp uses gnu.regexp.RE. The problem is that the constructor throws a
exception (no classdeffound) that is catched by asynchDeliver from the
conection class and hidden to me since i have not configured log4j in the
client side.

Thanks for all and i think jboss is the best app server since let me debug it :)

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Portal] - CMSPortlet

2005-11-13 Thread modendahl
Hi,

what is the idea behind the CMSPortlet?
I'm trying to include a page which I made with the CMSAdminPortlet.
Therefore I simply want to put a new portlet instance on the start page.
I edited the default-objects.xml, default-portal.xml and the
portlet-instances.xml to fit my needs. But I get an error that the portlet
instance can't be found.
Here are my editings:

  | default-objects.xml
  |
  |CMSPortletWindowTest
  |CMSPortletInstanceTest
  |center
  |1
  |
  |
  | default-portal.xml
  | CMSPortletWindowTest
  | CMSPortletInstanceTest
  | center
  | 1
  |
  |
  | portlet-instances.xml
  |
  | CMSPortletInstanceTest
  | CMSPortlet
  |
  |

I'm working with a cvs-snapshot of portal 2.2.
If the CMSPortlet isn't to be intended to display content in that way
is there another portlet to display content?

Regards,

Marcel.

[JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Configuring/Starting Jboss 4.0.3 in eclipse

2005-11-13 Thread matt.hibb
This is a really newbie question

I seem to be struggling to integrate eclipse/jboss and lomboz (all latest
versions). I think partly due to the fact that development seems have gone a
long way since the documentation/tutorials have been updated, especially with
lomboz.

Please dont anyone give me a link to this tutorial:
http://www.tusc.com.au/tutorial/html/chap1.html, is too out of date!

The basic problem is I create a new server definition in eclipse using the
complete lomboz/eclipse download. When i start the server (from server view) i
get an errors saying: "main class connot be found", followed by "Cannot connect
to VM". Ive changed the jre to the jdk to point to the tools.jar and all that
stuff, but im obviously missing something REALLY obvious looking at the error.
I cannot find single piece of "up-to-date" documentation detailing how to start
JBoss though eclipse using Lomboz.

ANY help (apart from the above tutorial) is much appreiated

thanks in advance

I have an urgent problem where recently we have been running JBOSS 3.2.5. on
AIX 5.2 (takes about 30 seconds to start).

We have recently moved the same system to a newly setup box AIX 5.3. elsewhere
and it takes about 24 minutes!! to start up JBoss and then each of the later
processes using JBOSS also takes a significant longer amount of time. If run on
windows, again it is fast.

We have been looking into the problem, has anyone ever seen this problem
before? Any suggestions? Anything to look for?

This seems to be similar to the post of jdebruin 'JBOSS ON AIX VERY SLOW' on
November 9th.

I would be grateful for any input on the subject as this preventing us from
appropriately running the application.

Thank you.
