[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - jbossws/jbossws14 dependency on Tomcat 5.5.16?
The component-info.xml of both jbossws/jbossws14 define a dependency on Tomcat 5.5.16. Is this intentional or something that can be removed without any issues? jboss 4.0.4.GA needs to be upgraded to Tomcat 5.5.17 and to do that the jbossws/jbossws14 xml files need to be updated for the thirdparty download. [JBoss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Re: process persistence problem with JBPM/Seam
I guess the problem was that the type of the variable value was not any of jBPM's built-in persistable types. The solution might have been making the type serializable. sbhatti, since you ask, this is the easiest but hardly the best approach. Serialization is slow and makes the stored data inaccesible piecewise. The best way to persist a custom type is to create a Hibernate mapping document and reference it from hibernate.cfg.xml. The drawback is, of course, that you have to know how to write mappings (and preferrably write a test case) but learning is a breeze with all the Hibernate tutorials around. Actually, when you implement a custom class loader you don't have to call the parent class loader yourself. [JBoss-user] [EJB 3.0] - Embeddable EJB3 with Maven2?
I've complained in Maven2-user mailing list that I've not been able to get Embeddable EJB3 Alpha 5 or Alpha3 to run under Maven2's unit test plugin called "Surefire". I registered a bug, and provided a demonstration application for the Maven folks (see JIRA ticket http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/SUREFIRE-38). Tantalizingly, however, someone posted that they've gotten it to work, but like Fermat's Last Theorem, they said it was too big to post. :) "Send me a note," the person said, "for the details." And so I sent a couple of notes, and nothing back. Gotta love it. So my question: Have you ever gotten EJB3 embeddable to work under Maven2/Surefire? If you have, would you mind terribly posting your pom.xml file, and maybe the JUnit test .java file you used? With the greatest hope and appreciation for your brilliance, I remain, Dan R. Forget it. Original problem was an operator error. One char wrong in the action class name in the process definition. Time to bump up the font size by 1. :) Also, found that my suggested tweak wasn't viable, the parent class loader's findClass method isn't public, so you would have to use getParent().loadClass(name) - which of course didn't make any difference since my class name was wrong in the first place. [JBoss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Perplexing implementation of ProcessClassLoader.findClass
Hi all, I'm trying to use jBPM 3.1 in an EJB project. Don't care about Hibernate functionality, just in-memory usage of jBPM from a session bean. I created an action and ran into a class loading exception that from past messages in this forum I can see isn't unusual. Alas, in my project using the UCL isn't an option (even if it were, I'm not a fan of the UCL). I was looking in ProcessClassLoader to see what I could do about the problem, code shown below: | public Class findClass(String name) throws ClassNotFoundException { | Class clazz = null; | FileDefinition fileDefinition = processDefinition.getFileDefinition(); | if (fileDefinition!=null) { | String fileName = "classes/" + name.replace( '.', '/' ) + ".class"; | byte[] classBytes = fileDefinition.getBytes(fileName); | clazz = defineClass(name, classBytes, 0, classBytes.length); | } | if (clazz==null) { | throw new ClassNotFoundException("class '"+name+"' could not be found by the process classloader"); | } | return clazz; | } | Unless I'm missing something, jBPM is only capable of loading classes that exist in a "classes" directory off the current classpath? Isn't that kinda strange? Isn't a "classes" dir what should be ON the classpath, not a subdirectory of something else on the classpath? The above implementation seems like it would be easy to fix so that it would work for components that have an appropriate classpath (e.g. because they have a manifest-specified classpath). Allowing for prioritizing backward compatibility with whatever motivated the original code, couldn't we just do: | clazz = (clazz == null) ? super.findClass(name) : clazz; | if (clazz==null) { | throw new ClassNotFoundException("class '"+name+"' could not be found by the process classloader"); | } | Am I missing something? This can happen if you specify /WEB-INF/faces-config.xml as one of the files in javax.faces.CONFIG_FILES and your SeamPhaseListener is configured in faces-config.xml. MyFaces reads all the files listed in javax.faces.CONFIG_FILES as well as /WEB-INF/faces-config.xml. This must register the phase listener twice, causing the problem. Create a extensions.js in which you extend the scriptaculous Autocompleter.Base | SeamAutocompleter = Class.create(); | Object.extend(Object.extend(SeamAutocompleter.prototype, Autocompleter.Base.prototype), { | | initialize: function(element, update, options) { | SeamRemote.log('SeamAutocompleter.initialize()\n'); | this.baseInitialize(element, update, options); | }, | | getUpdatedChoices: function() { | SeamRemote.log('SeamAutocompleter.getUpdatedChoices()\n'); | var instance = this; | var callback = function(returnVal) { instance.updateChoices(returnVal); }; | SeamRemote.create("autoComplete").getSuggestion(this.getToken(), callback); | } | | }); | 2. Create the Seam Remote component AutoCompleteAction.java with its interface AutoComplete.java | @Stateless | @Name("autoComplete") | @Interceptors(SeamInterceptor.class) | public class AutoCompleteAction implements AutoComplete { | | public String getSuggestion(String query) { | | // You would have a database query to get the actual | // suggestions based upon the user's input 'query' | return "option 1option 2"; | | } | | } | | @Local | public interface AutoComplete { | | @WebRemote | public String getSuggestion(String query); | | } | 3. Put the scriptaculous input box in your HTML | | | |new SeamAutocompleter('contact_name', 'contact_name_auto_complete',{}); | | Don't forget to import the correct JavaScript files in the HEAD section of your HTML. Hope this is of any use to anybody as JavaScript debugging can be quite a pain! :) View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3937529#3937529 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3937529 --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media. It seems that JBossIDE-1.5.1-GA is incompatible with Eclipse 3.2M5, M6 and the coming soon 3.2 release. Maybe there exists any public JBossIDE beta which works with those IDE versions? [JBoss-user] [Messaging, JMS & JBossMQ] - Memory leak
Hi All, We are observing memory leak while running our application on JBoss 4.0.2. We attached the profiling tool - JProfiler to trace the memory leak and we found that the class[] (Proxy classes) is increasing drastically which is not getting garbage collected. The "HeapWalker" shows that EDU.oswego.cs.dl.util.concurrent.PooledExecutor$Worker.run() has allocated some memory which is not being freed. The application uses MDBs extensively and the JMS server is configured to NullPersistance. What could be the possible cause for this leak? Thanks in advance, Nirav. [JBoss-user] [JBoss Eclipse IDE (users)] - EJB3 Project using jboss-4.0.4.CR2
Hey, I'm currently testing EJB3 development with Jboss Eclipse IDE (1.5.1GA). and was using Jboss 4.0.4 RC1 for that. Now I wanted to give the new CR2 a try. I created a new server configuration, but when I try to add it to the Classpath as a Jboss EJB3 library, I get the following error message: anonymous wrote : The selected configuration does not contain the expected EJB3 libraries. Please install JBoss with EJB3 enabled, or try another configuration. I took a quick look at the directory structure, and yes, that did change for the EJB3 libraries. With RC1, there was a directory server/default/deploy/ejb3.deployer, which is now missing. At least some of the jars are now in server/default/lib. Am I missing something here? Is there some special configuration setting for the new CR? Can I get an update for Eclipse IDE somewhere? Is there maybe a better place for posting this bug? [JBoss-user] [JBoss Seam] - how to build an deploy seam-applications in eclipse
I found a wiki-page which describes how to debug a seam example-application inside eclipse. If I follow this howto, I only import the java-sources and library-files to eclipse (not the xhtml-files and other stuff). If I make a change to a java - class, I have to run ant in a console for compile and deploy the application to jboss. This way of developping takes too much time.I search for a way to manage the whole .ear-Project in eclipse and use the "deploy" - feature of the context menu. I tried eclipse3.1.1, JBossIde1.5.1 and WTP1.0.2RC1. But It seams to me that WTP cannot handle EJB3.0 - Projects and with JBossIde I cannot manage .ear-projects. [JBoss-user] [EJB 3.0] - Enforcing more referential rules in EJB3.0
Hi. I'm working on a small system and I want to achieve the following results. I want to have two entities, User and Group, which basically look like this: | class @Entity User { | @Id int id; | @ManyToOne(option=false) Group group; | ... | } | | class @Entity Group { | @Id int id; | @OneToMany(mappedBy="group") List users; | @OneToOne User owner; | } | What I want, is to be as sure as possible that if user is the owner of group then user.getGroup.getOwner = user and group.getOwner.getGroup = group. [JBoss-user] [EJB 3.0] - Classcast Exception $Proxy thing
I was using EJB3 early last year, and since then a bunch of things have changed. I'm now having a problem getting access to my Stateless Bean, when I look it up in the InitialContext, it is returning a $ProxyXX object. This is how I remember it working some time ago. But when I try and cast this object to its interface I get a class cast exception. I've seen this question asked many times before and I've read through the answers and tried to get it to work as best I could but I've gotten nowhere. I have made an interface (Manager) which is @Local, I've then made an @Stateless (ManagerBean) which implements the interface. The @Stateless is deployed in a JAR file. The interface is then copied into a WAR file where I am trying to get the Bean from the InitialContext. Last year I was successfully using this: Manager me=(Manager)ctx.lookup(Manager.class.getName(); That now fails to find my bean and I have tried using this: Manager me=(Manager)ctx.lookup("ManagerBean/local"); That is returning the proxy object which will then not cast properly. I've looked through the attributes of the proxy object in the eclipse debugged and it appears to be the ManagerBean which I am trying to access. I've ran the tutorial's against my JBoss installation and they are working. I've also tried using the remote interface with no luck. Is it something to do with the object not serializing properly so it no longer knows what class it is after I've looked it up? Should there be certain JARs included in my WAR that will allow the class to de-Serialize properly after getting it from jndi? Using JBoss-4.0.4.cr2... Will provide source code if that will help diagnose my problem. Almost: splitting the MyClass in two classes, one outjecting idCat and one outjecting currentCategory, as well as emulating the behaviour of @Factory through @Out(s) on getters solved the problem. It is not that elegant, but works. After changes I thought that retrieving idCat in initCurrentCategory() using Component.getInstance(...) could have possibly forced the idCat factory invocation, but I didn't try it.
