[JBoss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Tips with jBPM server's console

2006-04-16 Thread ehchn2
Hi,

The jBPM console keeps on scrolling every few seconds.
To me, this makes debugging difficult because I have to suspend
the console everytime I need to view something there.
And most of the time, I didn't manage to suspend it on time.
Thus, I have to scroll back the screen.

Does anyone has any good suggestions on how I can improve
development on jBPM.

Thanks.

[JBoss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - Problem in Work flow Example......pls guide..

2006-04-16 Thread try_catch_finally
Hi all,
I have created a simple work flow using jboss jpbm.
i downloaded the jbpm-starters-kit-3.1 and worked on JBoss Eclipse IDE.

The scnerio is :-
Grover sends an interview requrest.
Bert accpet the interview request and starts processing interview.
Bert submits the interview feedback to HR(grover).
Grover goes through the feedback and select/reject the candidate.
On selection the offer letter is issued.

I have successfully deployed it on jbpm server and it's running perfectly.

now i want to know.
1-> There should be facility to send(upload) candidate resume while sending an
interivew request to Interviewee (bert) so that bert can review the candidate
resume.
2- > Same thing while submitting the interview feedback(upload feedback from)
to HR (Grover).

How to achieve above things.
or
How to implement the uploading facility..

one more thing is...how could i use the radio buttons... like ..accept
Interview Request or Reject ...

All reply will be highly appriciated...

I was able to get the Silent Authentication on Windows working based on "

But, when I tried a request.getremoteUser() on a server side JSP code, I get 8
digit numeric value. I was expecting something like a 'mydomain\joe'. This
number changes for every invocation of this JSP.

How do I get the remote user? (int his case the userid used to logon to the
domain on a workstation.

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Re: jbossws/jbossws14 dependency on Tomcat 5.5.16?

2006-04-16 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Temporarily, I have disabled the explicit dependence on a particular version of
Tomcat (ie. 5.5.16). The upgrade to Tomcat 5.5.17 in Branch 4_0 is complete. I
am doing it in HEAD right now.

Since the webservice stack should not have any dependence on a particular
version of Tomcat and rather base on what is available (the latest) in
4.0/HEAD, I think this explicit dependence clause should be removed.

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: Dynamic Pageflow with Seam

2006-04-16 Thread ranik
Looks like a simple fix, would you be interested in taking a fix for this?
If so, please let me know the preferred option for exposing this via API and
how to submit the fix.

1. replace a specific pageflow by providing a new method - 'public void
installPageFlowDefinition(String pathPageFlow)' - this can be used to add new
pageflows as well as update existing ones.
2. provide a new method - 'public void refreshPageFlowDefinitions()' which
would do the equivalent of the current 'installPageflowDefinitions()'
3. Suggestions? - my vote is for #1.

Note: setPageFlowDefinitions didn't work it just sets the list of pageflow
definitions, the code to actually load them and cache in an internal map runs
during initialization only.

thanks,
Rani.

[JBoss-user] [Installation, Configuration & Deployment] - Remote client connecting to jboss application server

2006-04-16 Thread aron-smith
Hi,

On my local network I have the application server on PC a 192.168.1.100

I have another PC on the same network whose jndi.properties I alter to be

java.naming.provider.url=jnp://192.168.1.100:1099

I fired up my client app and had no problem accessing the 'server'.

On a world wide web PC I configured
java.naming.provider.url=jnp://64.nnn.nnn.nnn:80

where 64.nnn.nnn.nnn is my router and on that linksys router I port forward and
trigger 80 traffic to route to 192.168.1.100 port 1099.

I know this *should* work as I tested port forwarding 80 traffic to a different
server port 8080 and had *no problem*.

On my very remote client it complains that it cannot connect to localhost port
1099 - despite my altered jndi.properties.

I cant figure out what the issue is - should all work right?

Are there any restrictions that the application server would reject the client
if it was a redirected router traffic?

thanks!

Aron

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - JDBC persistence configuration examples?

2006-04-16 Thread rcdunn
I am trying to change the persistence store to PostgreSQL according to 5.2 in
the JBossMessagingGettingStarted.pdf.

anonymous wrote : JBoss Messaging is shipped with several pm configuration
files for the most commonly used
  | database servers such as Oracle, mySQL or MSSQL. These files are located in
/docs/examples/config

It specifies:

anonymous wrote : To change the pm configuration, navigate to
/server/$SERVER_CONF/deploy/jboss-messaging.sar/META-INF
  | and edit jboss-service.xml From the example folder, copy the mbean
definition that is appropriate for your data-
  | base server e.g. mysql-jdbcpersistencemanager-service.xml Paste it in place
of the existing one then restart the
  | server.

However, in the jboss-messaging-1.0.0.Beta1.zip I find no such collection of
examples, other than MySQL. I assume this is an oversight. Is there anywhere I
can download an example PostgreSQL? I will attempt to roll my own in the
meantime, but would prefer one already tested by someone more familiar with
JBoss Messaging.

I have everything apparently working according to the example test cases, but I
found a few glitches (like the above), and the apparent omission (or
mis-configuration by me) of the file note at the beginning of Chapter 5:

anonymous wrote : Note: In JBoss Messaging 1.0 most of those services are
configurable via mbean definitions which are all located
  | in jboss-messaging.sar/META-INF/jboss-service.xml. In the next release,
configurations will be broken down
  | into separate xml files.

The closest thing I see to it is:
$JBOSS_HOME/server/messaging/tmp/deploy/tmp26612jboss-messaging-scoped.sar

>From the path, I assume this is a dynamically deployed/created instance and
>not one I would edit (and it does not have a file system entry that
>corresponds to jboss-messaging.sar/META-INF/jboss-service.xml anyway).

Any corrections, comments, pointers, URL's, etc. greatly appreciated.

I apologize if I should have separated this post into two, but it all falls
into trying to change the JDBC persistence to PostgreSQL and I assume most or
all is a mis-configuration problem on my end.

I have the exact same problem. Out-of-the-box Jboss 4.0.4.CR2 with Jboss Portal
2.2.1.RC3

Deployment seems to be ok, but when trying to access /portal through my
browser, I get a 404 and the above server exception.

You were right. Upon making my previous post I realized what I said didn't make
sense so I started deleting files until I got down to a barebone setup. Then I
had to modify the service file in jboss-ws4ee.sar/. Thanks for your help.

If I'm not mistaken the URLDeploymentScanner is what is failing and if I remove
that then my test EJB will note get deployed. This wouldn't be a problem if I
knew how to manually deploy but I'm pretty new to JBoss and haven't been able
to find out how to do that.

Regarding my comment about the Conversational error message:

I see that you do create such an error message in ConversationInterceptor.java:

 log.info("no long-running conversation for @Conversational bean: " +
component.getName());
  |  FacesMessages.instance().addFromResourceBundle(
FacesMessage.SEVERITY_WARN, "org.jboss.seam.NoConversation", "No conversation"
);
  |

I will try and see why I am not seeing that message.

You also need the jboss-seam-ui.jar (which also gets compiled when you build
seam from CVS). This jar needs to be packaged in you WAR.

Thanks Gavin. The fix did the trick ! Much appreciated.

One more question... does the Conversational create a faces error message to
display to the user why he/she got redirected ? I know that you added this
functionality earlier (which worked), but at this point I don't see the message
(although in the log file I can see an INFO message (but not an error/info
message to display on the view)):

So why don't you remove the pertinent modules then?

I don't understand what your really trying to do. If you create stripped down
version at install time and add what you need, it should be a cleaner appraoch.

Is it possible to run the EJBs for the sun petstore demo on a JBoss cluster and
then run the web application on a remote jboss server? I have the cluster setup
with farming and now I'm trying to run the war files remotely but they're
failing to lookup the ejbs in the cluster. Thank you.

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Eclipse IDE (users)] - Struts XDoclet integration

2006-04-16 Thread axelberle
I am trying to extend the Fibo-Tutorial (which is great) with Struts. The
problem is that the XDoclet generated files get overwritten. To overcome this
it is said to place certain files "in the merge dir". I cannot figure out where
that would be. Can you tell me where is that merge dir?

Thanks in advance!

Axel

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: tool for developping seam applications

2006-04-16 Thread javaos
if I do a little change on a class like adding an @out - annotation to a field,
the ant compile process takes nearly ten seconds. Please tell me how you work
(and which tools you use) if you develop a seam application.

Help would greatly be appreciated

you can reproduce the error by doing the following:

1.point your browser to the online booking example;
url:"http://seam.demo.jboss.com/";

2.login

3. press button "find hotels"

4. click (and position the cursor) in the input field for the search string

5. press "return" on your keyboard

result:
---
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Client-id : _id0 is duplicated in the faces
tree.

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Seam] - Re: tool for developping seam applications

2006-04-16 Thread javaos
if I run ant with nothing changed after the previous run, ant tells me
"compiling 142 sources". It takes three seconds. Do you also work like it's
described in the howto? Or do you manage the whole .ear in eclipse?

Thanks
Matthias

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Seam] - tool for developping seam applications

2006-04-16 Thread javaos
the howto
"http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=UseJBossEclipseIDEToDoJBossSeamsBookingExample";
shows how to debug a seam application inside eclipse. But if I develop this
way, after making a change I have to run ant, which takes a lot of time
compiling all sources. Can anybody tell me which tools he uses for developing
seam/ejb3 applications. I think about managing the whole .ear - project in
eclipse. I already tried JBossIDE and WTP.
