[JBoss-user] [Messaging, JMS & JBossMQ] - Re: CurrentMemoryUsage skyhigh...

2005-06-08 Thread ehansen
How much memory should a soft reference use?

Using the default cache settings, my memory usage (based on the Windows Task
Manager) was about 200MB more when there was 100,000 messages waiting to be
consumed than when the queue was empty. The total java memory was at 300MB.
So, assuming that most of the refrerences were soft, this would indicate that
each soft reference was using 2K. Does this sound right?

I didn't look at the actual MBean properties when the JMS queue was in that
state, but I plan to build up the queue to 100,000 messages and try it again.

Thanks,
Eric Hansen

[JBoss-user] [Messaging, JMS & JBossMQ] - Re: Getting ping timeout trying to connect to a Queue

2005-01-11 Thread ehansen
I did not see a reply relevant to this post, so I would like to raise it
again... what can cause this to ping timeout to happen?

I have the same symptoms... the appliation will run for several days without
problem, the whammo, these exceptions appear and the app is dead. It happened
last night in the middle of the night, when noone was on using the system.

Thanks for any insight into this issue.
Eric-

using jboss v3.2.4

[JBoss-user] [Installation & Configuration] - Shutdown warnings - why are they happening?

2004-08-29 Thread ehansen
Hello,
When I shutdown the JBoss 3.2.4 server the following entry is posted to the console
and log...

2004-08-29 17:41:36,000 WARN [org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo] Could not delete
file:/C:/jboss-3.2.5/server/default/tmp/deploy/tmp28248console-mgr.sar restart will
delete it

This is one of about 30 files that cannot be deleted for some reason. This did not
happen prior to 3.2.4. I also just ran the 3.2.5 server, right out of the box, and
it shut down the same way (same WARN lines)
Can anyone help me understand the cause of this. Thanks.
Eric-
