[JBoss-user] [JNDI/Naming/Network] - Re: my problem the port 1098 1099

2006-01-14 Thread fbiaggi

When you reserve a range of ephemeral ports, only processes that
specifically request a port in the reserved range can use it.

*NOTE:* Ephemeral (short-lived) port numbers start at 1024.

To reserve one or more ranges of ephemeral ports:

1. Use *Regedt32.exe* to navigate to:

*HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters*.

2. On the *Edit* menu, *Add Value* name *ReservedPorts* as a
*REG_MULTI_SZ Data Type*.

3. For each range that you wish to add, type a line in the *Multi-String
Editor* dialog, using the *-* syntax, where ** is the
starting port of the range and ** is the ending port of the range.
If only one port exists in the range, ** and ** are identical.

4. Press *OK* when you have finished adding ranges.

5. *Exit* the Registry Editor.

[JBoss-user] [Performance Tuning] - JBoss AS 4.0.3 EJB performance problem

2005-10-06 Thread fbiaggi
Hello,

just installe JBoss 4.0.3 over 4.0.2.
Compiled from source with the same options as 4.0.2.
Configuration is the same.

In a pure EJB 2.x environment using both remote and local interfaces, accessing
some thousend EJB's in 4.0.2 is done in 11 seconds, the 4.0.3 release needs 33
seconds.
This means 3 times slower.

Any idea on what is changed or how to return to the good performance of 4.0.2 ?

Thanks in advance.

Franco

2005-05-22 Thread fbiaggi
Hi,
if you are under win,
search the web for fport.exe or reverve the ports:

Hi,
this seem to be an authorisation or connection problem.
Are you using a local or remote instance of mysql ?
To test it edit the user table in the mysql database (ex. with mysql query
browser),
open a new user with an empty host/userid/password and give Y to all
privililedges.
Restart mysql and retry, if now works you have found the problem.

I think you should only specify your JNDI names ad queries with ORDER BY, all the rest
should work.
I do not use xdoclet, develop on WSAD and deploy/run on JBoss.

Hi,
we develop with WSAD and deploy to JBoss without problems.
The only things are special JBOSS-QL statements.
Try it maybe it works without any changes, just only add the required jar's to JBoss

[JBoss-user] [EJB/JBoss] - JBoss 3.2.4. qusetion

2004-03-14 Thread fbiaggi
Hi
just a question, is this feature also for jaws (ejb 1.1) implemented ?

Thanks.

"New option to check the database structure at deployment and update it if possible.
For this behaviour, in jbosscmp-jdbc.xml, in defaults, you have to add
true. It should normally be used in combination with
true. The structure of the database is checked at
deployment time. The missing fields are added. The string fields have their length
adjusted when the new type is longer than the old (numeric fields are not modified for
the time being). Fields which are no longer needed are dropped. For relation tables,
the code checks whether the definition is correct and logs a warning if not. The
current code has a limitation in that it converts fieldnames to upper case for
comparison. This may cause problems for some systems (though, as JBossCMP does not
allow quoting of fieldnames at this time, this should be minimal)."
