[JBoss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - Re: WAN

2006-06-13 Thread jaink
We will have JMS Clients in different geographical location across WAN who
would be connecting to their local JMS Servers. These JMS Servers will have to
communicate (one server becoming client to another server). The Servers will
not be on the same cluster.

Thanks. I could not find a road map for JBoss Messaging. How soon is 1.2 going
to be released? If we use JBoss MQ and clustering, how difficult will it be to
migrate to JBoss Messaging? Are there any guidelines for future easy migration?

Thanks for the help.

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - JBoss Messaging Cluster

2006-06-09 Thread jaink
Hi,

We are using JBoss with messaging configuration. We are trying to investigate
ways to implement a messaging cluster. I am not sure if I understand how
clustering is configured in JBoss messaging. From reading through the
documentation and forums it looks like clustering is more of JBoss AS thing.
How do we get started on clustering? Do we copy the cluster-server.xml from
all configuration? Can a cluster membership acheived programmatically using
JMX? Can we use TCP/mping setting for JGroup to avoid multicast as multicast is
not an option for us?

Thanks.

2006-06-09 Thread jaink
Thanks for the reply. I am little confused now. I thought JBoss AS is
clusterable and messaging can be deployed in singleton service mode since it is
embedded in AS and not standalone. Is that correct? Should we be using JBoss MQ
instead?

Thanks.

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - Large 200mb messages

2006-05-17 Thread jaink
Hi,

We are using JBoss Messaging with mysql as persistence store. We tried to send
a 70mb message and it failed. Most of the FAQs and post related to large
message support seems to be for JBossMQ. We have to eventually support 200mb
messages.

Has large message support changed in JBoss Messaging? Do we need to break the
message up into smaller chunks? Can we use transaction to receive this group of
messages as one transaction?

Thanks.

My apologizes for the wrong post. It was a heap size problem. 70mb works fine
with 256m heap size. Only issue here is that our client machines have only 512m
memory and run heavyweights like oracle.

When will JBoss Messaging 1.2 be released?

Thanks again for the reply.

Has anybody build their own message grouping (breaking up a huge message) and

[JBoss-user] [JBoss Messaging] - Re: Large 200mb messages

2006-05-17 Thread jaink
Thanks for the suggestions. Couple of questions

1. JMSX properties seems to be optional. Can we assume that JMSXGroupid and
JMSXGroupseq are supported by JBoss Messaging?

2. How do transactions work with fullSize, pageSize and downCacheSize
parameters? If transactions require all messages (as part of the transaction)
to be in memory at the same time how does the fullsize restriction work?

3. Not sure what is meant by Since you won't be using transactions you will of
course deal with the fact that your client or server could die after the set of
messages was only partially sent.

if we are using persisted messages with durable subscriber messages should be
delivered on any client or server failure (once they recover). Is that correct?

Apologize for the layman questions but we are still in discovery mode as far as
JBoss Messaging is concerned.

Thanks for your help again.

We need a light weight JMS implementation which can work in a standalone mode
not requiring application server or a JNDI server. We also need the JMS clients
to auto-discover the JMS server. So, just to understand this better it looks
like JBoss Messaging needs to be embedded in some app server? Is that correct?
