[JBoss-user] [Installation, Configuration & Deployment] - Re: JB 4.0.2 to 4.0.3 -> jar stopped working

OK, I figured it out. The avalan jar was missing from the lib directory and
that was causing the fop jar to throw the exception.
Thanks.

2005-11-08 Thread lmasters
Ouch. OK, how can I word this better...

I'm running win32 (2000) and jdk 1.4.

In 4.0.2, I placed my jars in the server/myserver/lib directory. I use Xalan,
Xerces, Batik and FOP to render PDF reports. The reports rendered PDF OK.

I upgraded to 4.0.3 and placed my jars in the server/myserver/lib directory.
Now, when I run a PDF report, I get the following error:

[JBoss-user] [Installation, Configuration & Deployment] - JB 4.0.2 to 4.0.3 -> jar stopped working

2005-11-08 Thread lmasters
I previously had my application working fine in JB 4.0.2. I have a bunch of
jars (xalan.jar, xerces.jar, fop.jar, classes12.jar, jconn2.jar, etc.) that I
put in the server/lib directory and all was well.

When I upgraded to 4.0.3, I now get the following error in my log when trying
to invoke fop:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/fop/apps/Driver

I tried adding the jar manually to the jboss classpath, but that made no
difference.

Did something change with the jar loader in this point release? Anyone know
how to fix this issue?
Thanks,
Lou

[JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - accessing unpacked war directory?

2005-06-15 Thread lmasters

>directory within my war file. The problem is that the hot deployer unpacks it
>to a semi-random directory under the tmp\deploy directory. Any idea on how to

For example:

Within an ear file I have a xxx.war file. This war file contains a directory
named 'abc'. I deploy the ear and the deployer also deploys the war in a
directory like:  c:\jboss\server\xxx\tmp\deploy\tmpxxx-exp.war.  Within
this exploded directory is the abc directory. From my application, I have a
properties file that has to have an entry like:

web_root=C:\\jboss\\server\\xxx\\deploy\\xxx.war\\abc

or something to that affect.

Is this doable?
Is my only alternative to not hot deploy and unpack the war myself?

Thanks.

2005-06-10 Thread lmasters
I'm setting up JBoss 4 with Sybase ASA 9 and jconnect 5. I created a
sybase-ds.xml file and deployed it. JBoss boots and connects to the Sybase DB
(I can see the initial 10 connections), but when I try to log into my app, I
get an exception coming from my datasource.getConnection() call. The exception
stack is:

My java code is:

InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
  | DataSource ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("java:"+pool);

Please tell me I configured something wrong.
Thanks.
