Well, I got Hibernate working in the stand-alone example, without JBoss or IntelliJ, but when I insert, or even when the other examples insert into the DB, I get two rows. Can anyone help me here. I haven't yet retried my example with JBoss but I think it'll work. However, I'd like to solve this two rows issue first. Thanks. [JBoss-user] [Installation & Configuration] - Re: multiple instances of jboss in the same machine
I don't think I am doing this correctly. I am running Jboss-4.0.0. I cannot get this to work for one server. I do the following steps: 1. I create JBoss0 and JBoss1 under server 2. I then move, from the default server, lib, conf, and data. 3. I then go into the jboss-service.xml file in JBoss0 and I uncomment the ServiceBindingManager def: | | ports-01 | file:/c:/java_env/jboss-4.0.0/docs/examples/binding-manager/sample-bindings.xml | |org.jboss.services.binding.XMLServicesStoreFactory | | | and use the ServerName of ports-01 from the sample-bindings.xml. Just in case I used absolute pathnames. 4. I then go into the JBoss0 and run the following: | c:/java_env/jboss-4.0.0/bin/run -c JBoss0 | and I get | 14:40:48,522 INFO [Server] Core system initialized | 14:40:50,913 ERROR [MainDeployer] could not create deployment: file:/C:/Java_Env | /jboss-4.0.0/server/JBoss0/conf/jboss-service.xml | org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentException: No ClassLoaders found for: org.jboss.s | ervices.binding.ServiceBindingManager; - nested throwable: (java.lang.ClassNotFo | undException: No ClassLoaders found for: org.jboss.services.binding.ServiceBindi | ngManager) | at org.jboss.system.ServiceConfigurator.install(ServiceConfigurator.java | :139) | at org.jboss.system.ServiceController.install(ServiceController.java:200 | ) | at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) | at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl. | java:39) | at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAcces | sorImpl.java:25) | at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:324) | at org.jboss.mx.interceptor.ReflectedDispatcher.invoke(ReflectedDispatch | er.java:141) | at org.jboss.mx.server.Invocation.dispatch(Invocation.java:80) | at org.jboss.mx.server.Invocation.invoke(Invocation.java:72) | at org.jboss.mx.server.AbstractMBeanInvoker.invoke(AbstractMBeanInvoker. | java:242) | at org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl.invoke(MBeanServerImpl.java:642) | at org.jboss.mx.util.MBeanProxyExt.invoke(MBeanProxyExt.java:176) | at $Proxy4.install(Unknown Source) | at org.jboss.deployment.SARDeployer.create(SARDeployer.java:208) | at org.jboss.deployment.MainDeployer.create(MainDeployer.java:889) | at org.jboss.deployment.MainDeployer.deploy(MainDeployer.java:745) | at org.jboss.deployment.MainDeployer.deploy(MainDeployer.java:709) | at org.jboss.deployment.MainDeployer.deploy(MainDeployer.java:693) | at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) | at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl. | java:39) | at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAcces | sorImpl.java:25) | at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:324) | at org.jboss.mx.interceptor.ReflectedDispatcher.invoke(ReflectedDispatch | er.java:141) | at org.jboss.mx.server.Invocation.dispatch(Invocation.java:80) | at org.jboss.mx.interceptor.AbstractInterceptor.invoke(AbstractIntercept | or.java:119) | at org.jboss.mx.server.Invocation.invoke(Invocation.java:74) | at org.jboss.mx.interceptor.ModelMBeanOperationInterceptor.invoke(ModelM | BeanOperationInterceptor.java:131) | at org.jboss.mx.server.Invocation.invoke(Invocation.java:74) | at org.jboss.mx.server.AbstractMBeanInvoker.invoke(AbstractMBeanInvoker. | java:242) | at org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl.invoke(MBeanServerImpl.java:642) | at org.jboss.mx.util.MBeanProxyExt.invoke(MBeanProxyExt.java:176) | at $Proxy5.deploy(Unknown Source) | at org.jboss.system.server.ServerImpl.doStart(ServerImpl.java:396) | at org.jboss.system.server.ServerImpl.start(ServerImpl.java:293) | at org.jboss.Main.boot(Main.java:151) | at org.jboss.Main$1.run(Main.java:405) | at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:534) | Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: No ClassLoaders found for: org.jbos | s.services.binding.ServiceBindingManager | at org.jboss.mx.loading.LoadMgr3.beginLoadTask(LoadMgr3.java:198) | at org.jboss.mx.loading.RepositoryClassLoader.loadClassImpl(RepositoryCl | assLoader.java:463) | at org.jboss.mx.loading.RepositoryClassLoader.loadClass(RepositoryClassL | oader.java:374) | at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:235) | at org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl.instantiate(MBeanServerImpl.java: | 1183) | at org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl.instantiate(MBeanServerImpl.java: | 269) | at org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl.createMBean(MBeanServerImpl.java:

[JBoss-user] [EJB/JBoss] - Re: JBoss4 ContextClassLoader
I would like to know the answer to this. I ported some Java ClassLoader code from a web application into my ejb module and though I could look up the resource in my jar, I could not manipulate the path or load the resource. I am interested in this answer. What I am going to try next is to Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResource("resources") After packaging my resources directory into my ejb.jar. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. [JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Re: Session Bean Client hangs at Context Lookup
If I used java:comp/env it worked just fine when the bank-ejb.jar was part of the .ear. I am having trouble using the URL to look up other ejbs that are not part of a war or ear. (See my last posting.) Those ejbs that are, in the same JVM but not in the same project. The error I keep on getting is: | javax.naming.NamingExc | eption: Could not dereference object [Root exception is javax.naming.Communicati | onException [Root exception is java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sun.ebank.e | jb.account.SimpleHome (no security manager: RMI class loader disabled)]] | Thanks. [JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Re: Session Bean Client hangs at Context Lookup
I have a question about this: I modified the Duke's Bank to include a very simple object called SimpleEJB, with JNDI name MySimpleEJB and with a ref that was ejb/Simple. When I got the default initial context, it worked just great using initial.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/Simple"); However, when I tried this: | Hashtable env = new Hashtable(); | env.putContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory"); | env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "jnp://localhost:1099"); | env.put"java.naming.factory.url.pkgs", "org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces"); | InitialContext initial2 = new InitialContext(env); | Object objref2 = initial2.lookup("ejb/Simple"); | It didn't work. It said it couldn't deference it and that was part of a NameNotFoundException because ejb was not bound. However, if I change that last line to read: | Object objref2 = initial2.lookup("MySimpleEJB"); | It worked just great. Do I always have to use the JNDI name when not using the java:comp/env? That is, accessing a remote bean. I thought that JBoss would do that making using the refs. What I am trying to do is modify another war file I have to use an session bean but I am having trouble getting the bean even by the JNDI name. The war file I am using does include the bank-ejb.jar, I put it in there to try it out, and there is no way I can look up that bean. Some hints would help. Do I need the clientall-jboss.jar for the JNDI look up? I've been reading up on the Jboss JNDI but so far the book I am using, SAMS JBoss, says that I am settng up everything correctly. Thanks. [JBoss-user] [EJB/JBoss] - Re: EJB client jar files
JBoss 4.0 embedded Tomcat and Tomcat 4 and 5. So, If I understand this correctly, I need to generate the client.jar and use the jbossall-client.jar with my client and I'm OK. And my client should be running with JBoss. (I used to run Tomcat with a connector. Now, I assume I can just use JBoss with embedded Tomcat on my client tier. ?) So, I generate myclient.jar with the JBoss-IDE. How do I do that with the IntelliJ IDE? I'm assuming I'd need the JBoss plugin. How is that coming? Could someone point me to good documentation for the JBoss-IDE? I've seen some stuff but specifically generating client jars would be nice. So, am I correct in thinking that if I use IntelliJ, I stilll need the JBoss-IDE, to generate the client interfaces? Is there a command line? Could someone point me to the appropriate WIKI or Forum answer? Thanks. M.
