use jbpm from within another ear. Testing and running it standalone is not very
helpful for me (besides looking at the tests/examples).

I second that. I am very happy for all you jbpm experts, congratulations for
knowing that much. However, I think it is not ok for just answering again and
again with a vague "look at the source / test cases". Could you be just a bit
more concrete?

I have to do many switches between process instances and had to test quite some
time to figure out how this is (probably) done. Or the usage of the jbpm.sar:
I have searched the source code for the jndi name
'java:/jbpm/JbpmConfiguration' that I found in the jboss-service.xml. Guess
what: I only got hits inside the build\jbpm.sar.dir, doc\userguide\,
src\resources\jbpm.sar and src\userguide.
Does it help me to find out how you guys use this service? Not really.

@JBoss: What does it tell you about your documentation when so many people,
perhaps not all beginners, keep asking 'trivial' questions about jbpm?

Right now I am a bit disappointed. Getting started with jBPM is not
straightforward - at least not for me.

Right now my application (btw. a struts liferay portlet) comes with its own set
of hibernate.cfg.xml and jbpm.cfg.xml. However, it does not 'feel' right, since
these files also lie in the service archive as well.

Maybe I am asking too obvious questions - the problem is I do not find
anything about the jbpm.sar in the documentation, except in Chapter 8.

Thanks for helping me out.

could you please share the code snippets before and after fixing the bug?
This would help me and the rest of the newbies resolving that kind of problem.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

can someone explain the main purpose of this sar? I have a rather vague
understanding, for instance: Can I / my application read the jbpm.cfg.xml plus
the hibernate settings that are configured in this sar?

Take a look at the examples: You'll find useful code for your JbpmContext /
transaction problems in
src/java.examples/org/jbpm/websale/WebsaleTest.java and
src/java.jbpm.test/org/jbpm/db/AbstractDbTestCase.java

p.s.: Try creating your process instances like this:
ProcessInstance processInstance = new ProcessInstance(processDefinition);

2006-03-30 Thread the_dude
Hi,

can you give us something like a "Hello World" portlet
that includes jBPM functionality?

What about combining JBoss Portal with jBPM
anyway? Are there some extra benefits to consider
when building a jBPM portlet inside a JBoss Portal?
I have to implement jBPM inside a portlet but am not
sure which portal to use...

Thanks for the help, the_dude

p.s. & totally off-topic: What about a pdf / real
(cook)book about jBPM?
