FYI, If a jndi.properties file in the classpath of a .war file points to another port other than what JBoss is configured (usually 1099) then JBoss can not recover. The .war application file has to be in the deploy directory when JBoss is started. JBoss will deploy beans very slowly and errors will happen over and over.
