[JBoss-user] [Installation Configuration] - JBoss 3.2.3 on AIX 5.2
I am having serious problems porting my application on to AIX 5.2. JBoss starts ok but as soon as I try to invoke a method on an MBean from within my application (something that has occured many times during startup) it core dumps and fails to produce a java core file so all I'm left with is the binary core and no further clues. Further investigation shows that it occurs on calling invoke on MBeanServerImpl.class. The MBeanServer is successfully located the class is right and it is located in the right classloader but on calling invoke the method is never reached. I can however successfully call that same method from the jmx-console. I have tried both the 32-bit jdk 1.4.2.4 and the 64-bit 1.4.2.3 and they both exhibit the same behaviour. Anyone got any suggestions other than exmining the core file... [JBoss-user] [Installation Configuration] - Jboss 3.2.3 deployment problem, ear unpacks but NOT the war
I have an ear file which contains a war archive. When I deploy the ear file and start the server the ear file is exploded to a directory structure but the war archive still remains as a packed file in the ear directory. This means that calls to ServletContext.getRealPath() from my web application returns null. Which causes errors in my web app. I tried deploying my ear file in Jboss 4.0.1 and it exploded both the ear as well as the war within it to the tmp folder. Hence my web application works fine iin 4.0.1. Is there any configuration parameter that I need to set to get it to work in JBoss 3.2.3?, so that the war withing the ear is unpacked as well. [JBoss-user] [Installation Configuration] - JBoss 3.2.3 ClassLoading Help (yet again)
I've read quite a bit about JBoss and ClassLoading (UCL) issues. As I am having one of these issue - but no luck resolving it, I'm looking for help. In general I can't find good info on the jboss-app.xml file and it's configuration. On the net there are many different examples that have various syntax. All my JBoss 3.2.3 manual has is an example (page 72) and very little explation: | jboss-app |loader-repositorysome.dot.com:loader=webtest.ear/loader-repository | /jboss-app | The name must be unique but is not important. I've created this config file in my EAR but it has not had any effect on the app - it still appears to find the wrong class for my app. I've redeployed and re-started JBoss - but no effect. I'm using this: | loader-respositorycom.gmaci.svcs.reportnetJB3:loader=ReportNetGatewayEAR.ear/loader-respository I've also see examples that use this: loader-respository-configjava2ParentDelegation=false/loader-respository-config What does this turn off - how does that effect the class loading for my EAR? Why don't I find a reference to this in the manuals? My code is calling an Axis class org.apache.axis.client.Stub but getting a NoSuchMethodError when doing so. I've found that the method that I'm calling and failing on is loaded twice by Jboss: | ### Instance0 found in UCL: [EMAIL PROTECTED] url=file:/E:/apps/local/devl/software_common/jboss-3.2.3/server/cluster/deploy/jboss-net.sar/ ,addedOrder=5} | | | ### Instance1 found in UCL: [EMAIL PROTECTED] url=file:/E:/apps/local/devl/software_common/jboss-3.2.3/server/cluster/tmp/deploy/tmp19997ReportNetGatewayEAR.ear ,addedOrder=48} | What do I have to do to get JBoss to isolate my EAR's jars from the container's jars? In JBoss-3.2.3 is it possible to change the location of the work directory? The work directory is currently ${JBOSS_ROOT}/server/'serverinstance'/work/'serverinstance'/localhost. I am interested in knowing if I can remove the second serverinstance, and simply have the work directory be ${JBOSS_ROOT}/server/'serverinstance'/work/localhost. The reason I am interested in doing this is so I can tar up pre-compiled JSPs and deploy them under the work directory independent of the instance name. ( since dev, test, prd all on different boxes will have the same tar deployed but have different 'severinstance' names, etc.) Thanks! [JBoss-user] [Installation Configuration] - Jboss 3.2.3 - Jar unloading issues during redeploy
I have jboss 3.2.3 running on a Windows box. Whenever i try to redeploy my app, i get a message like Could not delete dir .. restart will delete it message And i checked out the directory from which its trying to delete stuff and i cant remove anything manually either. This is causing me a lot of classcast exceptions due to multiple class files being in memory. The JDK i have tried is 1.4.2_03 and 1.4.1_01. Is there anyone else facing this issue? Im going to try this out on Redhat tomorrow but just curious to see if anyone got the same issue? [JBoss-user] [Installation Configuration] - JBoss 3.2.3 Admin Console Applet Behavior on Mac OS X 10.3.3
Hello everyone, First post. I have been able to install JBoss on Mac OS X over the past year or so without any trouble. Recently, when installing on Panther (10.3.3) with the Java 1.4.2 update, I have begun to have an odd problem. When the server has started and I navigate to the JBoss Admin Console (http://127.0.0.1:8080/web-console/index.html), the applet in the left pane loads but then goes blank. I am using Safari as the browser. It has worked before without issue, but I think it was prior to the Java 1.4.2 update. I also tested Mozilla 1.7b, and it exhibited the same behavior. Oddly, Internet Explorer 5.23 shows the applet just fine. Has anyone else seen this peculiar behavior? Hi, I have recently migrated from JBoss 3.0.3 to jboss 3.2.3/tomcat 4.1.29. In the previous release we were able to run multiple instances of the server by changing port numbers as appropriate. I notice that with the 3.2.3 release that I get various other problems, like the following for example; 2004-04-20 13:23:41,345 ERROR [org.jboss.invocation.jrmp.server.JRMPProxyFactory] Starting failed javax.naming.NameAlreadyBoundException It appears as if there may be some clashing config information that is not readilly available in the 'default' server location. Using ServicesBindingManagement is not an option because the deployments need to be completly separate environments on the same host. I would appreciate any thought/suggestions with regards to this issue. What is a SAR application? Where can I get the steps to deploy an application in Jboss 3.2.3... [JBoss-user] [Installation Configuration] - jboss-3.2.3.gz and not jboss-3.2.3.tgz?
I am currently attempting to download the latest tar/gzip version of the binaries for JBoss (3.2.3). I did this about two weeks ago on two different machines and had no problems. I gunzipped and tar -xvf-ed and was on my way. Now, when I try to download jboss, I am getting a jboss-3.2.3.gz file which when gunzipped does not produce a tar file. Am I doing something incorrectly? When I gunzip this file, I get a very large file that I can do nothing with. Thanks, in advance. a href=http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=3824312#3824312;View the original post/a a href=http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=3824312Reply to the post/a --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies. [JBoss-user] [Installation Configuration] - JBoss 3.2.3, MySql 4.0.3-nt deploy problems
JBoss is giving the following two errors when deploying an Entity Bean using MySql as the data source. I can send any additional configuration files you wish to see. I do have an application.xml file in the location where JBoss indicates the file is missing. In reference to the first error, I did a search within the configuration files to find where JBoss might be requesting the 30.mysql-ds.xml file and found no file calling for such a file. There is a mysql-ds.xml file in the location where JBoss says it is looking for the 30.mysql-ds.xml file. Here are the log file errors from JBoss. Thank you for any assistance. I have been working on this diligently for two grad school assignments but am stymied with the projects due next Monday. I've researched JBoss and MySql issues for a week now. Appreciate any direction. [JBoss-user] [Installation Configuration] - Jboss 3.2.3 upgrade problems ...changes?
View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=viewtopicp=3821235#3821235 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bbop=postingmode=replyp=3821235 We've just upgraded from 3.2.1 to 3.2.3_jetty and have encountered a number of errors in our unit tests. So, we tried dropping back to 3.2.2_jetty, but the errors persisted. Here's an example: Previously, when we passed in a NULL into a findByPrimaryKey method, JBoss returned a standard FinderException, which we were catching. Now in 3.2.3 ( 3.2.2), this NULL is throwing an IllegalArgumentException, crashing out of the transaction, triggering rollback exceptions. In this case, it was a small matter to alter the code trap the NULL prior to the Finder method. However, these upgrades have also introduced other errors, which aren't as easily posted to the forums. It appears to us that some things have changed at a fundamental level and it would be very helpful if we knew the whats the whys. We've looked through the SourceForge site, but the only docs there were Ver to VerRCn -type release notes, which were verbose CVS-wise, but a bit light on explanations details. So, can someone please point us to a forum post or refrence doc with a list of enhancements (between versions 3.2.1 3.2.2, I guess), which can shed some light on these changes.
