Doing the JBOSS getting started Duke's Bank exercise -
I have tried j2ee-1_4-doc-tutorial_5.zip, j2ee-1_4-doc-tutorial_4.zip, and
j2ee-1_4-doc-tutorial_2.zip with /jbossj2ee-src.zip (from the startguide40.zip
downloaded from http://www.jboss.org/products/jbossas/docs ( the JBoss
Application Server Guide 4.0.2 Rev 3 May 3, 2005).
With the _4 and _5 tutorial everything works until the deploy step, when I get
server errors:
11:59:53,471 INFO [EARDeployer] Init J2EE application: file:/home/pd/jboss-4.0.
2/server/default/deploy/JBossDukesBank.ear
11:59:54,322 WARN [verifier] EJB spec violation:
Bean : CustomerBean
Section: 10.6.2
Warning: The entity bean class must be defined as public and abstract... ( +
several hundred more lines of errors)
With the _2 j2ee tutorial (often mentioned in this forum as the solution to the
server errors noted above), I get compile errors - I have checked and rechecked
and am following the JBOSS directions.
It seems there have been some problems with the JBOSS implementation of the
SUN tutorial being in synch. Is this still the case, or should I be able to
get this to work. If I should be able to get this to work, should I be using
the _5, _4, or _2 version of the Sun J2ee tutorial? Should I be using the
current JBOSS getting started guide (JBoss Application Server Guide 4.0.2 Rev
3, May 3, 2005).?
I'm using the following set-up:
Java 1.5.0_03-0.1
SUSE Linux 9.3
