I figured it out. It had to the with the java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/collections/SequencedHashMap.
This class is located in a jar in my war file. I copied this jar to jboss\server\default\lib and it seemed to take care of it. I still don't understand why since it is already in my war but oh well.
