[JBoss-user] CMP/BMP Performance

2003-02-18 Thread NIELSEN JAN, Teliadk
Hi All,

I'm about to start implementation of a fairly large system, where
performance is a big issure.

Can any one give me a tip on what road I should select. Should I choose CMP,
BMP or make a DAO layer where I'm using JDBC?

Hope you can give me a hint :-)

Cheers
Jan

This is an interesting and informative article about that very topic:

Good luck,
 Ben

2003-02-18 Thread Jonathan . O'Connor
Jan,
Use CMP2. Write load tests so you can measure performance. Then, you can
optimise loading by changing the jbosscmp-jdbc.xml files. Look up the
documentation on it.
Run your tests again. See if you've improved performance. If you don't
measure performance, you can't tell if what you are doing is fast or slow.

If this is still too slow, you can always write some direct JDBC or use
BMP.
