[JBoss-user] Re: PetStore

2001-06-22 Thread hnorris

Hey Simon -

Thanks for your reply. It sounds like both you and Faisal are much farther
along in the process since you're getting runtime errors; at this point, I
can't even build due to missing security classes, etc. Did you have similar
problems building, and if so, how did you work around them? For example, do
you know which jar files, etc the security classes are found? (
(org.jboss.security.SecurityAssociation, org.jboss.security.SimplePrincipal,
etc). The Petstore patch installs the file
$PET_STORE\src\petstore\src\com\sun\j2ee\blueprints\petstore\util\JBossSecur
ityAdapter.java, which imports the missing classes. Do the JBoss docs
adequately explain the migration path to the new security code? - perhaps
I've answered my own question here on how to solve this problem...

Hello

I have installed Jboss on Windows NT/2000 successfully.
I have also installed the j2ee reference implementation version 1.2.1 with
jdk 1.3.1 with Petstore 1.1.2 and cloudscape database. All works fine.

I now need to install the Petstore 1.1.2 Application on Jboss. I would
ultimately want the database to be in Oracle but for now cloudscape will do.

Could someone please provide me with a step by step guideline on how to do
this. Also please provide me all the configuration files. This is a fresh
installation so I do not have to worry about overriding anything.

The existing information is confusing or incomplete or refers to the older
version. I am also new to J2ee.

My recommendation is that the Jboss developers have a working version of the
product bundled into the download. It will help me and others save a lot of
problems in trying to get a j2ee sample application running quick and
easily.

Please realise that many of us do these downloads for evaluation and
demonstration to our management. It is very disappointing when we have to
battle in doing this.

I have had a bash at Jboss, Enhydra, In-q-my, Oracle 9ias, Jrun, and now
Orion. They all have similar challenges in getting Pet Store up and running.
I
do not mean to be a nag but many thanks in advance if you can help.

2001-05-21 Thread Cuong Tran

Ok, I finally got around to do it. The attached zip file contains all
files that I changed/added to make petstore work. Since I wanted to use
Hypersonic, I had to replace CatalogDAOImpl and OrderDAOImpl with slightly
modified version (CatalogDAOHypersonic and OrderDAOHypersonic).

The instructions are similar to the 1.1.1 version so you can refer to jboss
documention for more info.

[JBoss-user] [Re]petstore & jboss build error

2001-04-27 Thread dbin yoon

It's because src/petstore/src/build.xml in petstore-1.1.1-patch.zip is invalid.

Change src/petstore/src/build.xml into what follows.

1) place ejbjar before war
 start of the original text

 end of the original text

 start of the new text

 end of the new text

2) change the "value" field value in the jboss.home property to whatever your local
configuration is.
The property "jboss.home" is the home directory of jboss installation.

-

-

3) Sun RI 1.2.1 must be present when building petstore.ear
Sun RI version 1.3 beta doesn't work with build.xml in petstore-1.1.1-patch.zip.
Use Sun RI version 1.2.1

Now you will get petstore.ear with petstore-1.1.1-patch.zip
