RE: [JBoss-user] Stupid Resource Question

2002-01-15 Thread Coetmeur, Alain

I'm not the most aware of all problems, but as far as I
have tested and I have red the code :

you need :
-a working JDK 1.3 environment for your OS
(NT4, 2000, Unix'es)... maybe working with 1.4 with eventual patches...
it works very well with latest 1.3.1_02-b02 on my NT4

- it works comfortably with 256Mb java memory,
and probably much less. my application which use
a huge (200 000 ) EJB cache, uses 64M RAM and 170M VMEM
- CPU usage depends, and you may have to test under load...
JVM in -server mode helps much (2-3x faster)
I've no digit myself and you should ask to other people here.

- diskspace, quite negligible ... with my deployed apps it takes less than
50Megs on disk...
anyway I have to add JDK, and other applications (postgresql, corba
services...)
  that are my own busines...

Objet: [JBoss-user] Stupid Resource Question

I'm sure this question has been answered a bazillion times, but I could not
find a "search" function on the archives and I searched the web site and faq
to no avail.

Question: what is the resource and system requirements for running jBoss in
a MS Windows environment? OS, CPU, memory, disk (excluding apps of course).

Again, I apologize for this simple question.
