[JBoss-user] could not run Hypersonyc database manager

2003-08-07 Thread Marcos Dione

Hi. I'm using plain JBoss 3.2.1 under a debian/testing and I'm
following a tutorial taht can be found @:

http://www.tusc.com.au/tutorial/html/chap1.html

this tutorial uses the Hypersonic database that comes w/ JBoss and
in one of the steps asks me to start the database manager using jboss'
jmx console. I should simply click in 'service=Hypersonic' and then hti
the 'Invoke' button that calls the startDatabaseManager () method. in
the logs I see:

13:13:02,820 ERROR [STDERR] java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
13:13:03,016 ERROR [STDERR] at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)

Source)
13:13:03,137 ERROR [STDERR] at
org.jboss.jdbc.HypersonicDatabase$1.run(HypersonicDatabase.java:207)

I thought that, being that the jboss server runs under the jboss
user and my X has the debian's (and almost any other distro) settings to
do not let other users/hosts run apps in myX session, I also run

xhost +

to let anybody access my X session. but the problem persists, and
given the exception raised I would say that that's not the problem.
thing is, I don;t what would be then. I tried to look for an answer in
the mail-archive.com searcher, with no luck. also, the sourceforge site
does not have any list search capability (or it's just that I plainly
overlooked it). so my questions are the following:

a) does anybody know what's wrong and how to fix it? b) is there a
better searcher for this mailinglist? (hmmm, maybe google with site:) c)
is there any place where I can download the entire archive for local
searching? if not, does anyone have a (as complete as possible) archive
of this list that could handle it to me?

ok, I think that's enough for now. thanks in advance.
