Well, you can change the license only if you got such permission from
all the committers to these files. And even from those aliens who did
not commit directly, but sent a patch which was applied by somebody else
and have this statement included (better ask your lawyer first, folks).
You should check the CVS history and look for patches for these files
before going this way, IMHO.

He said this about header, not about the file. Correcting or removing
header which describes a license is illegal without a proper permission

Vlad, can you name one or more specific files that are GPL rather than
 LGPL?

If these do exist what is the plan to rectify what to me seems to be a
 serious
problem. Something like this could prevent me from using JBoss at all.
 This
 is serious if true!

There also seems to be a reference to being GPL licensed in JNP.

./naming/src/docs/index.html:JNP is licensed through GPL (see www.gnu.org

Should I be worrying at this point. Are these things really GPL licensed and
if so what are the consequences to me as a developer using JBoss and also

I am developing a commercial product and have very recently been asked by

If some is GPL doesn't that tend to make it all GPL?

There should be no issues with JNP still being GPL. I specifically had
discussions with Rickard (who wrote the JNP code) back in early 2001 or
so about this, since I wanted to use JNP in our product, and he agreed
at that time to make it LGPL (and went ahead and did it). I can
hopefully dig up the emails if there is a need.
