No, it does not depend on the container configuration anymore (AFAIR
since 3.2.2). You could configure OL with pessimistic locking. It does
not make sense unless in a cluster.

No, at the moment OL is condfigured per entity.

The dtd says does not list it as an option in the  element.
It also depends upon the container configuration in [standard]jboss.xml
