Yeah, that seems to be the case for me as well. It stops the service
correctly but the error message always shows up. I'm not sure why... Since
it worked I never bothered to track down the bug but maybe I should take
some time this weekend and look at it. If I figure anything out, I'll let
you know...

We've tried JNT. NT service can be started fine. But when it is stopped,
we've got an error "Could not stop the service on Local Computer. Error
1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a
timely fashion." Although, the service seems stopped.
Do you have any insights or suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Ma Cheng

is this related to the one in the contrib module of cvs? i thought that
was
bult on jnt (http://www.eworksmart.com/jnt/) ... if this is a new service,
it might be worthwhile to see if there isn't some way to combine the two
efforts. just my 2c...

I have set up Jboss as an NT service, but it ain't pretty...
You need to go out and get the srvany binary
http://www.href.com/pub/Helpful/SrvAny/
Here you will find the docs and tools that will help you
to set up anything as an NT service. You must let the service
participate with the desktop --otherwise you will not be able
to stop the service. Also to kill it, ^C does not work, you
need to kill the entire command prompt window.
you should be able to stop it by pointing a browser at
http://hostname:8082/ and invoking the Shutdown MBean's shutdown method.
If there is anyone out there that has a cleaner solution, I wouldn't
mind
seeing it...
