That's exactly right. The RFC specifically states that the client-server
TCP
architecture is merely the history to date. We now have an HTTP binding as
well, so there are already two ways to talk XMPP. Why not have a third?
I wonder if our friends over at Apple would like to take some time out
of their
schedule to write up the JEP to describe what _they_ did. ;-)

That works...can you make it available so that I can at least see the
concepts...thx.

If anyone else has code similar to what is being discussed, please post
up...

i have only c# sample code and no c++ code. But i should be no problem to
convert it to c++ because the ActiveX stuff is the same in all langauges.

I'd be interested in seeing it happen. Thinking about it just now we may
also want to extend it beyond images and to sounds or any other file. An
img tag wouldn't work with the latter, but would be worth looking into
imo.
Heh. I would be interested to see more people bring that up, as I was
complaining about not having a while back and people were fairly
adamant that it would never have a place in Jabber.
The sad thing is that with , is redundant.
Sure well ill make sure that the overal mechanisms wont necessarily restrict
it for only img, all it really is is a way to link extra downloadable items
into an XHTML message using the industry standard cid URI, so if jabber
XHTML ends up supporting object some time in the future it should work fine.
