Kevin is right, you should use LTS versions in order to avoid issues with
updates. Jenkins (even the core) has not enough test coverage, so only the
time and backports allow getting of stable versions.

Regarding your issue... Probably, you should provide more detailed and
accurate description for the issue. For example, you have specified
active-directory component, so owners/watchers of the core component had
not been notified about your issue. Moreover, there's no logs/job configs,
so it would be difficult to reproduce issue. I haven't managed to do it at
 my installation...

Hello Irfan,

please read https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/LTS+Release+Line
Most likely you won't get the mentioned issue in 1.509.x line as this

There is always a tradeoff between stability and new features.

thanks.
i have gone through the wiki page.

i guess following may be the issue :

1: back porting is not yet done from mainline release for this specific
issue
2: baseline for current LTS candidate does not include jenkins version 1.515

in first case, do i need to create JIRA ticket and assign label as
lts-candidate if yes, where is that option ?
OR just create JIRA ticket and request for backporting through mail

Artifact copy and Java 1.5 slave

2013-07-04 Thread Artur Szostak
Hello,

Does anyone successfully run Jenkins 1.518 with Java 1.6 on the master but have
a job running on a build slave running Java 1.5 and using the artifact copy
option? My jobs are crashing with a Java exception and I want to know if its
just an issue on my end.
I understand Jenkins is moving away from Java 1.5. But is backward
compatibility already being broken for the slave machines?

Kind regards.

Extending Jenkins/Sonar SCM Stat plugin - User specific check-in/violations stats needed

Is there any jenkins/sonar plugin available to extract details regardiing
no. of total users, user specific commits/violation/check-in etc in the GIT

I am using sonar integrated with Jenkins latest version (1.5+), though I
can see top 30 users through SCM stat plugin in Sonar, I am unable to draw
user specific metrices (total check-ins/violation etc).

Kindly advise, if there is anything available with you guys.
