Thanks for the reply, Eric.

The plugin is not working for me as it supposed to work as it is explained
in the https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Bugzilla+Plugin
Have anybody tried out Bugzilla Plugin with Jenkins / Hudson. And got below
result (screenshot from Jenkin+Bugzilla wiki page) once the plugin is
configured ???

"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.jvnet.hudson.test.HudsonTestCase" when running 'test'

2013-08-05 Thread Hugh Perkins
When I do 'mvn test' on the ec2-plugin, all the tests fail. When I open
target/surefire-reports/hudson.plugins.ec2.AmazonEC2CloudTest.txt, it says
"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.jvnet.hudson.test.HudsonTestCase"

I looked through various debug logs, and it seems that jenkins-test-harness
jar file is present in the surefire classpath.

Thoughts? Anyone else come across this issue?

Rather then just confusing users/developers with outdated information, that

The activity in the Subversion repository is very low, but it still
exists. We just had the monitor plugin released from Subversion this
weekend.

Historically we haven't been dictating where plugins should reside, but
if we want to contact those who are still committing to Subversion to
see what they think about moving to GitHub, that sounds like a good idea.

As you may know, all the Subversion repositories are tracked in GitHub
anyway, so migrating is pretty easy so long as those developers can work
with Git.

   2) Are there any legitimate reasons for releasing plugins from outside
of jenkinsci group when jenkinsci project exists?
I understand that it may be done due to time constrain when
maintainer does not have appropriate privileges.

We are discouraging this, and I think for a good reason. But I don't
think we have gone so far as to actually enforce this in the update center.

1. You would need to decide at what level to integrate: either the entire
keychain is a credential, or the identities that are added to the keychain
are credentials. I would favour the entire keychain... but the UI could be
fun to construct. Supporting file upload is not a blocker BTW.

Re: Integrating Jenkins and Nagios

2013-08-05 Thread Kohsuke Kawaguchi

I think https://builds.apache.org/queue/api/xml?tree=items is a good
start --- you want to monitor the # of in that thing.

It's probably a good idea to expose the queue length itself from this
endpoint. I'll add that change.

On 08/02/2013 11:47 AM, Kane Bonnette wrote:

Hello,

We have a Nagios server set up, and we were hoping to use this script

completed jobs; the data we want to monitor is queue length and how long a
current build has been going. However, checking the Jenkins API
(https://builds.apache.org/api/), this information doesn’t seem to be exposed.
Is there another way to remotely get this information, or are we stuck?

 Hi

I have a pending pull request [1] for NUnit Plug-in [2], that fixes
JENKINS-9965 [3], and would like to see if it can be merged and released.

I've tried to contact the plug-in maintainer via his @java.net (on June
20th) and @gmail account (on June 26, last weekend), but got no response so
far. Does anybody know if the plug-in is still being maintained?

I'm planning to cut new releases of TAP, CCM, Testopia and TestLink
plug-ins
in the next days, and would like to volunteer to cut a new release of NUnit
plug-in, if there is no objection.

 Thank you in advance!

Besides that, what is the recommended way to configure the compilation in

Do you enable "Use external build"?

Which compiler do you use - javac or eclipse?

Do you enable "Enable annotation processing"?

Please delete page Unreleased Plugin Changes

2013-08-05 Thread Jan Ruzicka
Hi

Can somebody delete the Unreleased Plugin Changes page[1]?

Apparently there is no interest about keeping this information and it is
getting outdated.
The job on ci.jenkins-ci.otg responsible for generating this page was disabled
without any explanation last week.
Requests for configuration changes were ignored since March.

Rather then just confusing users/developers with outdated information, that
nobody looks at anyway, delete the page and related job.

Sincerely
Jan

Tag cloud from the last 'n' commit messages

2013-08-05 Thread Sivsu
Hello,

I am working in a distributed project with 2 teams (~8/team) checking in
code at a good pace (at least 10 commits/day). I was hoping that a data
cloud from the commit messages of the last 2-3 days might be useful to:

1. Visualize the areas/components that are changing frequently
2. Identify patterns - are we doing more of refactoring, bug fixes, etc.

Do you think this could be valuable as a Jenkins plugin ? (my search
couldn't find an existing one)

If yes ..

I did come across the 'jenkins-tag-cloud-plugin' (copying Chris as well)
that forms a tag cloud from a project's source code. Can this be enhanced
or should a separate one be created ?

Also, I was planning to use D3.js for the visualization while the current
one uses Open Cloud library (not a major point though).

PS. I am new to plugin development, so please let me know in case I am
missing something here.

SV: Integration with bugzilla doesn't file a ticket.

2013-08-05 Thread Erik Zielke
The BugZilla plugin does unfortunately only annotate the changelog with
links to the configured BugZilla instance.

A solution for you could maybe be to create e-mail notifications, and
configure BugZilla to pick them up and create issues based on these. I don’t
really know BugZilla, but believe that should be possible. Or you could
extend the BugZilla plugin with the features you need, the BugZilla plugins
wiki page, https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Bugzilla+Plugin,
states that it needs a maintainer.

Best regards,

Erik Zielke

Re: Commit access for new jenkins plugin: Keychains and Provisioning Profiles Management

2013-08-05 Thread Michael Bär

I am not sure if the functionality of the Credentials plugin is sufficient
to mange this.

   1. Keychain
  1. Support file upload.
  2. Could have a password.
  3. Could have a description.
  4. Could include manually added *multiple* code signing identities.
  5. To integrate a keychain into a build job:
 1. Select the keychain.
 2. Select the code signing identity.
 3. Three environment variables are set:
1. The path of the keychain copied on the node, where the build
job is executed.
2. The general name of the selected code signing identity.
3. The password to unlock the keychain.
 2. Provisioning Profiles
  1. They are separated from keychains.
  2. Support file upload.
  3. They are no real credentials.
  4. To integrate a provisioning profile into a build job:
 1. Select the provisioning profile.
 2. Set the uuid of the provisioning profile as an environment
 variable.

Thank you for the effort to fix this Jesse! Meanwhile, after working around
the encoding issue I found a way to rebuild the project with the Terminal
and Intellij:

1. mvn clean process-resources
2. Switch to Intellij and refresh
3. Eventually Reimport the Maven Project in order to detect the generated
source folders
4. Make the Project (use Compiler Settings "javac" and "Use External Build")

which will only be fixable when maven-hpi-plugin 1.97 is released (I

Integrating Jenkins and Nagios

2013-08-05 Thread Kane Bonnette
Hello,

We have a Nagios server set up, and we were hoping to use this script
(https://github.com/Ericbla/check_jenkins/blob/master/check_jenkins_job_time.pl)
to monitor jenkins with Nagios. However, this script seems to only track
completed jobs; the data we want to monitor is queue length and how long a
current build has been going. However, checking the Jenkins API
(https://builds.apache.org/api/), this information doesn't seem to be exposed.
Is there another way to remotely get this information, or are we stuck?

Re: Encoding for generated sources in jenkins-core

2013-08-05 Thread Jesse Glick
OK, finally managed to reproduce locally (on Linux) using

MAVEN_OPTS=-Dfile.encoding=Cp1252 mvn -DskipTests -f core/pom.xml clean compile

My earlier suspicion about the bug in the Localizer plugin seems to be
correct, though I thought it would not apply here since I was thinking
about ISO-8859-1, which does not encode ‘’ quotes. Cp1252 does however
encode these characters as 0x91/0x92, meaning Windows users would be
hit by the bug. Looking for a fix.

Idea for parameterized trigger plugin

2013-08-05 Thread Hartmut Kühn
Hi all,

I have a parameterized trigger plugin job whith 25 subprojects. The subbuilds
are blocking and fail, so that the main job fails, too. This way we build all
components of our product in correct order and finally do the setup build, if
all other builds are ok.

>From time to time I have to rebuild a subset of the 25 projects. Which
>projects I have to rebuild depends on the situation, this is done by knowing
>which component depends on which other components. Of cource I don't want to
>rebuild all 25 projects, if only 3 have to be rebuilt. Also, I don't want to
>use automatic triggers for these dependencies, because the flow of Maven
>deployments have to be controlled by team regards.

What I do know is rebuilding some of the subprojects by hand in the main view
of the parameterized trigger plugin, where all projects are listed under the
header "Subprojects". This means switching from one view to another,
controlling my build logs, watching live and continuing with the next project.

Now for the idea: How about a multiple choice view with check boxes for the
subprojects to be built?

This way I could have a view with my 25 subprojects in the order of execution.
I could easily choose which project to build by enabling the corresponding
check boxes.

Best regards

Is this distinct from

https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-17508

which was already backported? There are four linked issues, all marked
fixed in trunk, and it is unclear to me what their relationship is
(only some seem to have associated code changes).

Oh, this wasn't hosting request...

Why don't you request your plugin hosted in jenkinsci repository, and
release to jenkins-ci.org?

2013-08-05 Thread imase
Hello Oliver,

We have big issues in production with this one
here: https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-17553

Our Jenkins-Master is growing and growing. Since I updated to 1.509.2 we
need about 2,5 times more space for $JENKINS_HOME/jobs.

Could you please add this one to 1.509.3?

Kind regards

Anyway... I just need access to push commits to my plugin repo.
Have you look at the history? Looks like I'm not the one with that problem.

All I want is to publish my plugin... since june :)

We don't grant admin access to repositories. Only a few Jenkins developers have
admin access to all the Jenkins repositories (I don't have :-). Wh do you need
admin access?

Please use the mailing list for such questions...

You need to change your group ID in your pom from
org.owasp.dependency-check
to
org.jenkins-ci.plugins

Since you are the owner of the plug-in you should continue your work in the
forked repository now (jenkinsci). Pull requests are only for other developers
who would like to submit changes to your plug-in. So it is important that the
plugin below jenkinsci is up to date so that others see the latest changes.

(You can keep the original repository up to date but this is not really
required. Actually I'm not sure if you need the original repository anymore…)
