I had a node with docker installed - yet docker workflow was failing with{noformat}/scratch/jenkins/workspace/myjob/.954d8efa/script.sh: line 2: docker: command not found{noformat}yet docker was available on this node and in the path (as verified by {{sh 'which docker;docker version'}}It transpired that docker-workflow was spinning up another node unescearily and this node did not have docker installed - hence the failure.After some discussion with [~jglick] we found that the node with docker on did not set the {{HOME}} environment variable.The workaround was to wrap the docker commands with {{withEnv( \ ['HOME='+pwd()]) }}.The plugin should explicitly state why it is spawing a new node - to help the user understand, and should probably not rely on the {{HOME}} environment variable being set to determine if it can use {{docker}}

The job is configured to be executed automatically on a daily basis at 7:30pm CEST. The job execution has been correctly triggered and the build has started at 7:30pm CEST, as expected. However, the logs of the build show the following error message: Looks like the node went offline during the build. Check the slave log for the details. FATAL: channel is already closed It seems that there has been a communication issue between our Jenkins master (hosted on a VM) and our Jenkins slave (a physical server) Therefore, the job has failed. At that time, we did not face any hardware issue on the servers. In the jenkins logs, except if I missed it, I did not find any reference of this communication issue, therefore, I cannot identify the root cause of this communication issue.

It would be very helpful if one can put $ {NUM} in multi-slave configuration and have that replaced with the slave numeber beeing added/configured. For example configure 10 slaves on one machine like:

After investigation, the issue appears when Subversion plugin has moved to standard SVNKit 1.8.6, where {{SVNSSLAuthentication}} constructor with certificate as {{byte[]}} does not exist. This constructor was probably only available in Jenkins-specific svnkit 1.7 version.http://javadox.com/org.tmatesoft.svnkit/svnkit/1.8.3/org/tmatesoft/svn/core/auth/SVNSSLAuthentication.htmlAs a result , the {{String.valueOf(certificateFile)}} introduced in {{CredentialsSVNAuthenticationProviderImpl.build}} when "porting" to SVNKit 1.8.6 is a big mistake and is not expected to produce any correct certification SSL certificat authentication mechanism.By the way, it is abnormal such an authentication failure leads to infinite authentication loop in plugin. Still investigating, patches should come soon.

Although I didn't see any Scriptler files being downloaded, the "updates" directory now contains the "org.jenkinsci.plugins.scriptler.CentralScriptJsonCatalog" file, and the "GitHub" tab is populated. It's a bit strange that I didn't see the file being downloaded, neither in Chrome or Firefox. In Chrome, which seems to be what you are using, the "Other" filter on the "Network" tab for me only shows an empty view. We prefer the option to stop treating every parameter as an Ant property. We tend to have jobs invoking Ant, Shell, among others. The parameters are divided between each. Let us decide what to use where. If a parameter is to be used as an Ant property, let us set it there. That is what the Property field is for, isn't it? I had a node with docker installed - yet docker workflow was failing with
/scratch/jenkins/workspace/myjob/.954d8efa/script.sh: line 2: docker: command not found
yet docker was available on this node and in the path (as verified by sh 'which docker;docker version'
It transpired that docker-workflow was spinning up another node unescearily and this node did not have docker installed - hence the failure.
After some discussion with Jesse Glick we found that the node with docker on did not set the HOME environment variable.
The workaround was to wrap the docker commands with {{withEnv(['HOME='+pwd()]) }}.

Seems there needs to be some shadow directory created on demand for any workspace where temporary files may be placed which are only intended to be accessed by build steps running in that workspace. credentials-binding should also be updated to use such a location for its temporary files. The lack of this API was just never noticed until Image.inside came along, because plugins simply assumed that build steps using a workspace could also access arbitrary files created on the same computer by the slave agent. I have a Maven project with both the maven-surefire-plugin:test and gwt-maven-plugin:test producing results - most of the time the results from the latter don't get reported. I don't understand why this bug is rated as 'minor' - the loss of test results and the inability to track test result trends across builds is surely a critical defect?
