Writing to the OutputStream within the decorateLogger method causes the written message to bypass the other build wrappers, which have not yet wrapped the OutputStream. For example, it prevents the Timestamper plugin from applying timestamps to these lines.

 Use google search or bing search or yahoo search to search for "jenkins users mailing list". In the google search, it is the first item in the list. In the other search engines, it is early in the list. Once you follow that link, it will take you to google groups and the Jenkins users mailing list.

 Perhaps the Extension Point should be in its own td and we can just prevent wrapping of the content. Any "standard icons" should perhaps be in their own td.

 The "action" icons on the right side of various tables are often too wide, improperly aligned (should be right-aligned) and have inconsistent spacing between the icons. The columns are often much wider than they need to be. Areas to look at:* Pipeline List* Activity tab listing* Branches tab listing* PR's tab listingImpl Notes* Some icons are placed directly into the td element within the Dashboard code.* Other icons (Favorites) are added via an Extensions.Render element* Both containers need to ultimately have the same height and apply some consistent horizontal spacing between the elements* Probably requires some small tweaks to Extensions.Render itself (perhaps just adding support for a className prop)* Column width will be problematic since each they driven by an absolute width set on TH irrespective of the number of child elements. Ideally this should be flexible, although it may require some rejiggering of the table layouts to be more flexible.

 Also reported by Lional Victor victor under JENKINS-37646.

We recently upgraded our Jenkins instance from version 1.596.1 to 2.7.1 LTS. We also upgraded Apache Tomcat to version 8 before Jenkins upgrade. After the completion Jenkins upgrade, we are seeing some jobs have their previous build time as 46 years ago, which are incorrect. Could you please advise how to deal with this bug

 If there are freestyle jobs, or a pipeline job, in a folder, the job never gets the event that it is finished. This means it won't stop spinning in activity/branches listings, or if you are following along (karaoke or tailing log) the header never transitions to finished. To reproduce, create a simple pipeline or freestyle job in a folder. run it from the activity screen note that activity screen never shows it as finished (just spins) Repeat above, but click into it and follow along (may need some sleeps in the job) - note that hte job finishes but the header never changes. This is probably a problem with multibranch in a folder too (that needs to be tested).

 Favoriting a matrix project computes incorrect URL to favorite, http://localhost:8080/jenkins/job/mc1/favorite/, notice 'job' in the path. this results in 404, however favorite icon is turned ON, favorited matrix project doesn't show up in list of favorited, clicking on it again gives 404 and favorite icon is removed.

 Build history shown by default. You can check all config.xml inside $JENKINS_HOME/users/ , buildHistory means not shown build history.

 I think I am currently running into this same issue, attempting to set the refspec and branch values from job parameters does not work because parameters are not interpreted at cpsScm checkout time.

 This is a fun side effect of ParallelStep not having a DataBoundConstructor - theoretically, it should be possible to have both parallel and other steps directly within a stage, but the attempt to validate the arguments to parallel goes wrong due to that missing DataBoundConstructor. The ModelParser does look for parallel and treat it differently if it's the only step under the stage, but we're not looking for that in JSONParser at all, and we're not rejecting parallel in other cases in the first place. So...need to think about this some.

 When using quotes in a git commit summary, all ant build fail due to wrong escaping. Ant then wrongly interprets parts of the commit summary as an ant target, which does not exist. Since the parameters are somehow forced on me by, idk - the git-plugin? i dont see a way to fix it myself, even though i dont even need the commit summary in my ant scripts. See the attached screenshot for the commit details and build output. thank you & best regards, keydon

 Blueocean dashboard lists all axises as different jobs for a matrix style project. This is a regression as it was fixed in https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-37104.

[JIRA] (JENKINS-37825) Pipeline Model: Add the ability to load shared libraries in the model

 With the arrival of the new shared libraries, this seems like a good time to add a section to the model for loading said shared libraries. Traditional "global library" contents will kinda work in the declarative subset currently - if they're just functions, and if they've got multiple arguments, if they're taking those arguments as named parameters. But foo.bar(), foo(1, 2, 3), foo('a') (closure) and any syntax involving an equals sign don't fall into the declarative subset, so a lot of what people do now may not work. Additionally, the load step won't work unless you're chaining methods onto the load - i.e., load('foo.groovy').someMethod() will work, but def foo = load('foo.groovy.); foo.bar() will not. So we should probably have a section that provides syntactic sugar for loading files.

 We're currently blacklisting the properties step from usage within the model, and we're going to stay that way - it can cause way too much confusion when executed outside of a central control. But that means we need to provide configuration sections for job properties. I'd like to do that as three separate sections - one for each of build parameters, triggers and other job properties. My reasoning is that the catch-allness of properties is part of its confusion - you can only call it once per Jenkinsfile and you have to have every JobProperty you care about defined in it. I want to add a layer of abstraction over that - the three groupings (parameters, triggers, misc) make sense as three separate sections with different syntax.

 We should add a "wrappers" section for specifying things like withCredentials, timeout and the like across the entire build rather than just within the steps for a given stage. A couple notes - this will need to only be for block-scoped Pipeline steps, not for BuildWrapper, since the latter require a node context. And this'll be a little tricky to implement since we want to be able to specify a wrapper step and any of its arguments and then invoke each of those steps with the rest of the build (including subsequent wrapper steps) in a closure passed to those steps...

[JIRA] (JENKINS-35263) non resizable Execute Shell text filed leads to clutter in job configuration page

 This was making it extremely frustrating to edit our Jenkins jobs because no matter how wide you make the browser window, the fields just keep stretching which leads to lots of horizontal scrolling. To work around this we use a browser extension (like Stylish) to add inject a CSS selector to cap the width of the CodeMirror div. div.CodeMirror  { width: 600px; }

 -Dgroovy.use.classvalue=true did the trick for me! My PermGen space is not increasing and everything seems to be working just fine. Thanks!
