I'm also seeing this exact same issue on our Jenkins. Its bad, a total showstopper for us since all of our core repos are accessed via HTTPS. We're running Jenkins 1.532.1 with all the plugins fully updated (that's what triggered this problem, updating all the plugins). Jenkins git client is 1.5. Our jenkins is running on Debian/wheezy/amd64.
Downgrading Jenkins git client to 1.4.6 fixed the issue for me.
