[JIRA] (JENKINS-42372) query: how to git build from forked repo?
Title: Message Title pooja shah updated an issue Jenkins / JENKINS-42372 query: how to git build from forked repo? Change By: pooja shah I might be wrong asking this here but there is no clue I could find. I'm using Jenkins GIT plugin with "Repositories" set as main origin repo. in "Branches to build" on giving a branch which is part of origin, it build properly but while passing the branch from forked repo, it fails with "ERROR: Couldn't find any revision to build. Verify the repository and branch configuration for this job" (which i understand because its not part of origin so fails but I need a work around here)Need: for my main repo, every team member works on their forked repo, from where they create pull request to main repo. and on github's pull request, i'm building a jenkins build against the head branch (which is from forked repo in this case)Ex. github pull request shows: commit into main_repo:qa from forked_repo:patch/after_releaseand so any of these lines fails "git rev-parse refs/remotes/origin/patch/after_release^{commit} ""git rev-parse refs/remotes/origin/abhi9moe:patch/after_release^{commit} ""git rev-parse refs/remotes/abhi9moe/patch/after_release^{commit} "is there any way to tell the plugin to search branch_name in forked repo as well?*meanwhile i'm changing "repository" link as per need, but looking for better decent solution...* !image-2017-02-28-18-09-47-796.png|thumbnail! Title: Message Title pooja shah edited a comment on JENKINS-41167 Re: credential is not saving the credentials (iframe cross origin policy issue) [~stephenconnolly] yes have upgraded credentials plugin to 2.1.11 but no luck, attached few more screen-shots showing potential error places. [~dbeckham] : sorry , i'm on 2.23 so can't find "Administrative Monitors" and to upgrade 2.24 there is only way I see is to fresh download and setup everything which is a little tedious task than any soft upgrade facility, please let me know if there is any upgrade shell or apt-get kind of command. or equivalent anything in 2.23 Add Comment This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v7.1.7#71011-sha1:2526d7c) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Jenkins Issues" group. Title: Message Title pooja shah commented on JENKINS-41167 Re: credential is not saving the credentials (iframe cross origin policy issue) Hi Stephen, Apologies, my bad. mistakenly missed to read your last reply. Credentials Plugin version = 2.1.5 Jenkins Plugin version = 2.23 Jenkins.getActiveInstance().getRootUrlFromRequest() from shows "http" (Result: http://127.0.0.1:8080/) it doesn't look like 35150 because I don't see the failure reason as explained in this issue "user configuration error in setting up the reverse proxy configuration of Jenkins" -> I didn't set anything explicit in this regard, however let me know If I can debug this in anyway because I remember seeing "reverse proxy broken" error message on "/manage" route until I clicked on "dismiss" button there. Please let me know if I can debug it further with any clues. (I also use HTML viewer which also got broken and the fix System.setProperty("hudson.model.DirectoryBrowserSupport.CSP","'unsafe-inline';'allow-scripts' ;") had worked but now I see even if I reset the CSP, it works without any trouble)

Very Strange thing to note: even the confix.xml used to say 1.629 before upgrade and saya the same now as well but yes I can find the difference in Jenkins UI to say that its upgraded (its tabbed UI like jenkins 2 though I get notification to upgrade it to jenkins 2) Is upgrading to 2 is only solution or will it make worse?
