The whole goal of the SQS plugin was to allow you to trigger builds where the Jenkins server sits behind the firewall SNS requires you to configure a deliver mechanism HTTP,email,SMS even SQS. Really the only transport I see working is SQS itself since HTTP support would mean opening up your Jenkins instance to the Internet which is already support by the GitHub Web Hook.
