So, I gradually started from 1.600 and gradually moved to newer version starting from 1.600 = success did some hot-deploys to newer version, at a certain point of time I also experienced jenkins to publish the previous version. so I restarted tomcat, (+ removed the jenkins subdir in apache-dir/webapp folder) .. and found jenkins was not starting anymore env: OS: CentOS release 6.5 (Final) Java: java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0.x86_64/jre Webserver: apache-tomcat-7.0.42 jenkins: 1.600 (and following...)
