Title: Message Title Thanh Ha commented on JENKINS-34578 Re: Cloud Server Options dropdown menus all blank 2.5 throws the expected error message now: Connection not validated, plugin might not operate correctly: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target I think we can resolve this bug. Title: Message Title Oliver Gondža commented on JENKINS-34578 Re: Cloud Server Options dropdown menus all blank Nevermind, the 2.5 I have just released should report this as an error in while testing connection. Title: Message Title Oliver Gondža commented on JENKINS-34578 Re: Cloud Server Options dropdown menus all blank That does no matter the "Test connection" does not work. You can still save it and give it a try. I have the fix prepared but trying to be sure it does what is necessary. Title: Message Title Thanh Ha commented on JENKINS-34578 Re: Cloud Server Options dropdown menus all blank I'm not able to get the first cloud configured because of this problem so running the above script throws a missing property exception. groovy.lang.MissingPropertyException: No such property: openstack for class: jenkins.plugins.jclouds.compute.JCloudsCloud Add Comment This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.4.2#64017-sha1:e244265) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Jenkins Issues" group. Title: Message Title Oliver Gondža commented on JENKINS-34578 Re: Cloud Server Options dropdown menus all blank The best way I can think of to detect this early is to execute some dummy query against every endpoint we will need when checking the connection. I presume that running these expressions from /script will point out the problem. Can you verify? (You need to have the first cloud configured correctly) println Jenkins.instance.clouds[0].openstack.@client.networking().network().get("") println Jenkins.instance.clouds[0].openstack.@client.images().listMembers(""); println Jenkins.instance.clouds[0].openstack.@client.compute().listExtensions().size(); Add Comment This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.4.2#64017-sha1:e244265) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Jenkins Issues" group. Title: Message Title Oliver Gondža commented on JENKINS-34578 Re: Cloud Server Options dropdown menus all blank Interesting. Is your keystone/identity url https one? How about other endpoints (Access & security > API Access). My best guess is that keystone URL uses http (that is why test connection works) but advertise other endpoints using https (so it fails when you start using openstack). Please attach full stacktrace so we know for sure. Title: Message Title Thanh Ha commented on JENKINS-34578 Re: Cloud Server Options dropdown menus all blank Great the additional logging helps. Openstack call failed ConnectionException {message=sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target, status=0} Looks like the problem is that our ssl certificate has some issues. The JClouds plugin actually fails the test and tells us this issue rather than telling us it succeeded. I think the OpenStack plugin should do the same when this happens as telling the user that connection test was successful seems misleading in this case. Title: Message Title Thanh Ha commented on JENKINS-34578 Re: Cloud Server Options dropdown menus all blank We're using version 2.3 on Jenkins 1.651.1. Title: Message Title Oliver Gondža commented on JENKINS-34578 Re: Cloud Server Options dropdown menus all blank I have extended the https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Openstack+Cloud+Plugin with instruction to configure logging in UI in case you do not see plugin output in Jenkins log. What plugin version you are using, btw? I am pushing more detailed logging https://github.com/jenkinsci/openstack-cloud-plugin/commit/11d14133cee80026eea367f20b5842d4d9635ba0 in case there is something wrong. Title: Message Title Thanh Ha created an issue Jenkins / JENKINS-34578 Cloud Server Options dropdown menus all blank Issue Type: Bug Assignee: Oliver Gondža Components: openstack-cloud-plugin Created: 2016/May/03 8:35 PM Priority: Major Reporter: Thanh Ha When trying to configure the openstack cloud plugin, despite "Test connection" succeeding. All server cloud options dropdown menus are not set. The only option is None Specified. I'm guessing the plugin tries to query the API but is failing but I do not see any logs in jenkins.log that hints at what the problem could be. Add Comment
