Title: Message Title Greg Peters edited a comment on JENKINS-29725 Re: Application starting issue websphere application server 8.5 after deployment Jenkins My pleasure Ansuman! Please note , you can configure shared library support and all other features after your first initial deployment. Select the "Install/Update" operation in the plugin configuration. This will allow you to make changes through the WebSphere Administration Console without losing changes after a redeploy. This should work perfectly for your Shared Library issue. Just login and add a shared library. The next "Update" deployment will not remove that setting. Also note, if you choose "Install/Reinstall" this will blow away your application configuration every time. It's probably better to just use "Install/Update" in your case. Please provide more details on what you mean by "Configurable installation directory".-Greg Add Comment This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.4.2#64017-sha1:e244265) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Jenkins Issues" group. Title: Message Title Ansuman Swain commented on JENKINS-29725 Re: Application starting issue websphere application server 8.5 after deployment Jenkins Dear Greg, Thanks for all the help !!! i was able to figure out the issue. It was with conflict of context root in the node. The 1.3.4 is really stable and it supports almost all the functionalities that one could do during manual installation of application. Also the verbose output is very much helpful. If we are expecting an update of the plugin then following features might help a lot, configurable installation directory instead of default App_install_root/installedApps/cell_name . Some application path can be /app/MyApps etc. in the server Support for shared library name if one wish to associate it. Title: Message Title Ansuman Swain commented on JENKINS-29725 Re: Application starting issue websphere application server 8.5 after deployment Jenkins Hi Greg, I might have found out what the issue is. The IBM Websphere allows applications to have same context root in different nodes which are part of single cell. However the deployment plugin is throwing the error while doing the same. Below is the system out log from WAS: [8/17/15 2:54:47:756 PDT] 0101 webcontainer E com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.VirtualHostImpl addWebApplication SRVE0164E: Web Application InternetApp_war#TEST uses the context root /TEST/*, which is already in use by Web Application VDEV3-InternetDev_war#TEST. Also the status of the application is showing as stopped in WAS Console even after jenkins deployment/start up is successful. [JIRA] [websphere-deployer-plugin] (JENKINS-29725) Application starting issue websphere application server 8.5 after deployment Jenkins
Title: Message Title Ansuman Swain created an issue Jenkins / JENKINS-29725 Application starting issue websphere application server 8.5 after deployment Jenkins Issue Type: Bug Assignee: Unassigned Components: websphere-deployer-plugin Created: 30/Jul/15 3:15 PM Environment: IBM WAS 8.5.5, Jenkins 1.6 Priority: Minor Reporter: Ansuman Swain am using Jenkins websphere deployer plugin to deploy application to IBM WAS 8.5.5. The ear deployment is successful but the start up is not successful though Jenkins shows success message. I assume the ear (around 90MB) takes time for expansion in the remote server, and Jenkins success message is before the complete expansion. Is there a way to delay the process of startup after deployment is done. Can anyone suggest?
