Update under GlassFish.

2013-03-12 Thread cjs1976
Hi!

I installed Jenkins on my GlassFish. Everything seems to be fine. But today
I got the message that there is a new Jenkins version. I installed the new
war-file, but nothing changed. I still get the message that there is an
update.

Greetings...

Optional build step that can be run on-demand from the build output page

2013-03-12 Thread Wade C
Perhaps I'm going about this the wrong way, but we have a gerrit monitor
build job that, as the last step, creates an image for deployment. The
thing is, on this job, we're mostly using it for build testing, and the
deployment step will not fail if the build has succeeded up to that point.
The image generation step is quite time-consuming, so we'd like to avoid it
in general. We usually run a separate job to generate QA images for
deployment.

In the rare case, though, QA will want to have the image to deploy. Is
there a way to specify, for a given build that has completed, that an extra
step happen, or perhaps to trigger a linked job that runs in the same
workspace based on some paramters from the monitor job?

RE: [Perforce Plugin] New to this - issues linking hudson with perforce

2013-03-12 Thread Thijs
Thanks for your help. I've downloaded the visual client, set up a workspace and
succesfully downloaded the files in there. I've put the name in the client
txtfield and if i try to make a build now, it doesnt give errors but neither
shows a succesful build.

I'll have to dig deeper in this to get a succesful build out of it i think :p

RE: [Perforce Plugin] New to this - issues linking hudson with perforce

2013-03-12 Thread Mandeville, Rob
I've never played with the plugin, but it shouldn't be able to tell the
difference between a client spec you create with the GUI versus one you create
via the command line.

What I don't know is how (or if) the plugin edits the client spec to put the
source code where Jenkins wants the code. So to go any further than this,
you'll have to get an answer from somebody who's used the plugin.

Best of luck!

I tought so that it was the client field giving issues, but I just didn't know
what to fill in, hence i see screenshots with random names on it sometimes.

The wiki told me to use p4 command line client, but I have no clue how it
works, and since i'm not that good in english, the wiki page for that didn't
really clear stuff out :p

So I should just get the Visual client, set up a workspace, let him get all
depot files in there 1 time, and then give the plugin the filepath to that
folder?

The perforce server is hosted by a company, so I can't change anything. I'm

Another difficulty is that my native language is not english, as you can see on

All I know is the server adres and my user name and password, more settings I

I hope this odd explanation makes sence for someone so I can get this up and

RE: [Perforce Plugin] New to this - issues linking hudson with perforce

2013-03-12 Thread Mandeville, Rob
My Perforce is a little rusty, but I think I see your problem. You never
specified a client workspace. You left the "client" field blank, according to
perfplug.JPG.

First, make sure that you can connect to Perforce from the command line or p4v,
set up a client spec, and use it to get your files from the P4 server. Then
you should be able to enter that client spec into Hudson/Jenkins and go from
there.

Clover / Cover Perl application with Jenkins

2013-03-12 Thread Kamal Ahmed
Hi,
Does anyone have recommendation/Experience with doing Code Coverage reports in
Jenkins with a Perl Application ?
I would appreciate of you share your knowledge/experience.

I have tests running against a perl based application in TAP, then doing
something like:
prove --formatter=TAP::Formatter::JUnit -l t > test_results.xml
Now want to use Clover to do Test Coverage Analysis in Jenkins.

Thanks,
-Kamal.

Re: Q: How to integrate Maven JSLint plugin with Jenkins Violations plug-in

I see, the format of javac using maven is slightly different:

You can either
1) File a bug report for the maven plug-in to use the same format as the javac
compiler
2) File a bug report for the warnings plug-in to add a new parser (or even
better: provide a pull request ;-)
3) Create your own dynamic parser in Jerkins' global configuration screen

2013-03-12 Thread William Soula
It looks like any builds that are rebuilt are lost, but again I cannot
recreate this in my test environment so it is really strange. I even
tried deleting and re-creating the build pipeline view in my main
jenkins and it is still behaving this way.

Jenkins Job Builder and Disappearing Builds

2013-03-12 Thread William Soula
I am using Jenkins Job Builder to create and maintain my jobs and I am
seeing jobs disappearing, but cannot reproduce it in a test
environment. I am running 1.505 and was hoping all the disappearing
jobs bugs had been fixed since JENKINS-15156 has been resolved as
fixed. My situation is that I am using the Build Pipeline Plugin and if
a build is kicked off from the build pipeline page and fails and then I
run Jenkins Job Builder to edit the job and refresh the jobs page in
Jenkins the failed build disappears. I tried testing that same scenario
in my local Jenkins running 1.505 and it did not disappear. Does anyone
have any idea what is going on?

Re: Q: How to integrate Maven JSLint plugin with Jenkins Violations plug-in

2013-03-12 Thread John Smith
Hi,

I've done as you suggest and changed the parser to "java Compiler (javac)".
The good news is that the builds all work, but unfortunately the graph on
the project page is has got a 0 count. I wasn't expecting this because the
console shows errors like:

[WARNING] scripts.js:11:21:Expected '===' and instead saw '=='.
[WARNING] scripts.js:13:13:Combine this with the previous 'var' statement.
[WARNING] scripts.js:42:21:Expected '===' and instead saw '=='.
[WARNING] scripts.js:45:13:Combine this with the previous 'var' statement.
[WARNING] scripts.js:46:58:['classCode'] is better written in dot notation.

My guess is that the warnings plug-in hasn't noticed the errors.

403 jsonp forbidden (since 1.502)

2013-03-12 Thread John Vacz

Hi,
we have some html+js hosted in JENKINS/userContent/, and using the rest
api (mainly jsonp, - we are planning to host those pages/script on a
dedicated server later) extensively to cumulate/reorganise the
information (both from Jenkins and other systems, like Jira) for
different user groups . They work on browser session/cookie basis, as
long as the user is logged in to Jenkins and Jira, then the scripts are
working, no extra authentification is necessary. So far this solution
works perfectly and helps alot.

However since 1.502, Jenkins responses 403 errors to the jsonp requests,
so the scripts basically do not work anymore.

|Error 403
Status Code: 403
Exception||: jsonp forbidden; can use -Dhudson.model.Api.INSECURE=true if you run
without securityStacktrace||:
(none)
||
Generated by Winstone Servlet Engine v0.9.10 at Tue Mar 12 11:12||:31 CET
2013|

The jvm parameter suggested in the error message does eliminates the
error, and the scripts work again, but my concern is: does this paramter
makes Jenkins access more open than necessary? Since we ARE using
Jenkins built-in user database plus Role-Based Strategy, no anonymouse
access (https only) .

Is this a security update of some unexpected side effect?

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
- jv
