RE: How can i upload a text file and use it as a parameter

2014-08-17 Thread Alex Brodov
Hi Yossi,
Maybe I didn't explain it clearly..
I'm not talking about a properties file,
What I meant is to send a path of some txt file that holds inside some
string that is changing from my previous builds - the upstream builds, I
want to use the content of The file as a parameter, but I want this process
to be automated so once I'll call this parameter it will already hold the
content of this file.
Could you give some example with a Linux syntax?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,

First install the plugin:
https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/EnvInject+Plugin

2.
create a file .

3. inject the file

4. call the desired build with the parameter from the file .

Example:

Re: How can i pass build properties to downstream build ?

2014-08-17 Thread Adam Guja
The format should be like this:

BASE_BUILD=$BUILD_NUMBER
where BASE_BUILD is the variable that will be injected, and BUILD_NUMBER
(remember about the $) is the environment variable you already have in this
build (not necessarily a jenkins inbuilt variable, anything you have under $
BUILD_URL/injectedEnvVars/? )

Build Flow Plugin - issues with basic parallel build

2014-08-17 Thread Chris Meisinger
Hi!

I'm trying to do a proof of concept parallel build and running into an odd
issue. Am I missing something here?

The following DSL is what I'm using...

parallel (
{ build("test1") },
{ build("test2") }
)

I have two jobs, test1/test2. They are basic git clones and then a build
step that runs an 'exit 0' in the shell. When run individually, they pass
as expected. When the buildflow job is run, I see the following console
output, and the job never finishes, however both test1/test2 jobs complete
successfully. It looks like it's waiting for 'test2' to finish, which it
does, but the signal gets lost somewhere.

Started by user Me
parallel {
Schedule job test1
Schedule job test2
Build test1 #7 started
Build test2 #10 started
test1 #7 completed
-

Cloudbees buildflow plugin ver: 0.12
Jenkins version: 1.575

Thanks!
Chris

Can't Inegrate Jenkins to Bit Bucket With SSH

2014-08-17 Thread Suraj Batuwana

My Source code is hosted in Bit bucket it has SSH public key configured
from ManageAccount-> SSH keys

Now I have Maven2/3 project and Select Git Repositories as Source Code
Management Then I have done the following

   1.

   Enter Repository URL as git@bitbucket.org:/.git
   2.

Add a Credential with kind of "SSH Username with private key". Here are
the parameters I entered Scope: Global Username : Private Key :

But after this I could not move forword I see a red error saying

Failed to connect to repository : Command "git ls-remote -h git@
bitbucket.org:bitbucket.org:/.git HEAD" returned
status code 128: stdout: stderr: Failed to add the host to the list of
known hosts (/home/tomcat/.ssh/known_hosts). Permission denied (publickey).
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

You haven't said exactly what type of Jenkins packaging you are using but
you should be able to find the version number as the Jenkins-Version
attribute of the META-INF/MANIFEST.MF file either inside the Jenkins WAR
file or exploded out (for instance on RedHat it appears at
/var/cache/jenkins/war/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF)

Re: How can i pass build properties to downstream build ?

2014-08-17 Thread Alex Brodov
I've installed this plugin but the thing is that it's not recognizing the
properties, the properties are like an environment variables.
Any idea?

Re: Lookings for Jenkins version used by JENKINS_HOME

2014-08-17 Thread Daniel Beck
That's (mostly) the correct version. This field is updated whenever the Jenkins
system configuration is saved. If you don't do that, the file isn't getting
updated.

"1.0" written to the file can happen when you save only e.g. the security
configuration and never the system configuration, at most very early in an
instance's lifetime.

How can i pass build properties to downstream build ?

2014-08-17 Thread Alex Brodov
Hi,
I have a few jobs, for example job A which is the upstream and job B which
is the downstream, i've defined some properties in job A:
Build Environment -> marked the "Inject environment variables to the build
process" checkbox -> and added a few properties to the "Properties
Cintent" text box such as:
HOME_DIR = home path, and so on.
I'm trying to figure out how can i access those properties from my
downstream.
Should i install some plugins?

Thanks,
Alex

anonymous dashboard & project view

2014-08-17 Thread Philipp Kraus
Hello,

my anonymous user has got read access to some projects, but I would like to
modify the HTML page of the project and the main dashboard only for the
anonymous user e.h.
I would like to remove the "last changes" and "build history" on the
project page. On the main dashboard I would like the left column with the
menu, so that the anonymous user
can only see the project list.

How can I do this?

Thanks

Phil

publishing artifact with public access

2014-08-17 Thread Philipp Kraus
Hello,

I'm using LaTeX with Jenkins to build PDF files. After the LaTeX build I
get an URL to my artifact (I create the artifact on a successful
build):
https://myserver.de/jenkins/job/MyDoc/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/mypdf.pdf
I can open the PDF and everything works fine, but I need to log in to
download / show the PDF. I would like to create the URL for all users
without login in Jenkins. How can I create a open access to the artifact
build URL, so that each user, that knows the URL, can download the PDF?

Thanks a lot

Phil
