have also integrated the same with jenkins. But the Test in progress plugin

While the node is connected/the Java process running, it consumes some memory
and CPU, but it should be (for a Java process) fairly modest if there are no
running builds.

Setting different build time outs for a Jenkins Job

2016-08-20 Thread subscribe . vish

OS : CentOS 6.5

Jenkins Ver : 1.619

Build Plugin : 1.14.1

We are using the Jenkins Build-Timeout Plugin. ("Abort the build if its
stuck") Property.

This plugin seems to support only 1 option, out of 4 available options
options at any time.

1.Absolute

2.Elastic

3.Likely Stuck

4.No Activity

Ideally we would want to set both "Absolute" and "No Activity" values to
the Jenkins Job, which is a simple Maven Job.

But it seems to support only 1 option at time.

Is there a way in Jenkins to set both a maximum “Fixed Timeout” and a “No
Activity Timeout” for a Job?

For example: Absolute property could take a value of 4 hrs and “No
Activity” could take 10 mins.

Is this possible?

Re: What is a permanent agent or slave server when discussing Jenkins?

2016-08-20 Thread Kiran
When an organization adopts Jenkins, I think there is a need for a term
that receives an artifact from Jenkins. Given that it is open source, how
does one create a new word? Should I try to ask Kohsuke Kawaguchi to
create a term? When other people talk about Jenkins with non-technical (or
semi-technical) managers, are they finding a lack of a word for this server
difficult?

2016-08-20 Thread Kiran
So most of the time (when Jenkins isn't interacting with a permanent
agent), there is no extra CPU or RAM utilization from the server having the
.jar file and being configured as a permanent agent?

Unlock Jenkins Error - HTTP ERROR 404 - New Bee

2016-08-20 Thread websphere automation
Hello All,

I am new to Jenkins and I have installed jenkins on Centos using rpm , it
comes up fine and start.

I am able to access jenkins console for first time .
http://localhost:8080/jenkins but the first steps looks like to unlock
jenkins

Unlock Jenkins

To ensure Jenkins is securely set up by the administrator, a password has
been written to the log (not sure where to find it?
) and this file on the
server:

/var/lib/jenkins/secrets/initialAdminPassword

Please copy the password from either location and paste it below.
Administrator password

I am copying the password from the file and pasting it there but next page
shows below error. I have checked it is not typo , wrong password etc so
that is not the case. so I am not sure what is wrong and what are the next
steps to fix this.

any help will be appreciated . Thanks

HTTP ERROR 404

Problem accessing /jenkins. Reason:

Not Found

Typically there's a JAR cache in $HOME/.jenkins (a few MB), and everything else
is in the directory you configured ("agent home" I think it's called). Usually,
it's a few dozen MB at most, plus tool installations and workspaces.

No difference.
