Re: Portlet "Change the language"

2003-01-29 Thread Massimiliano Dessi
Jetspeed use l10n to change the language,
in the portlet .vm (Velocity),
you found $l10n.variableName in the velocity portlet.
Jetspeed substitute variableName with the variableName in the
JetspeedLocalizatio_language(it, en ,es,jp, fr de, ..).properties
if the variableName don't exist and if the portlet don't use this system,
the content of the portlet
can't change the language because the content it's in the only language.

Re: Portlet "Change the language"

2003-01-28 Thread Massimiliano Dessi
It is necessary comment in tr.properties

#services.LocalizationService.classname=org.apache.turbine.services.localiza
tion.TurbineLocalizationService
and put
services.LocalizationService.classname=org.apache.jetspeed.services.customlo
calization.JetspeedLocalizationService

and
#tool.request.l10n=org.apache.turbine.services.localization.LocalizationTool
with
tool.request.l10n=org.apache.jetspeed.services.customlocalization.CustomLoca
lizationTool

This portlet change the language with refresh (reload) of the page .

I implement a new velocity portlet to change the language witout refresh
,I submit the code to David Taylor to test with a cvs code.
If you need the code i submit the code in this mailing list .

Re: It is possible to refresh Portlets ?

2002-11-27 Thread Massimiliano Dessi
I put the string
in a get content of a portlet ,one time to force the refresh the
page,(content = specify the second after reload a page)
and remove in the the next call to the portlet.
Use a flag to verify if the string has been put in the portlet one time, to
remove it at the second call.
Is' not a elegance method but it's the only that i found.

Excuse for my bad english.

CustomLanguage service +portlet

2002-10-30 Thread Massimiliano Dessi
I'd like to give to the jetspeed comunity the sources of a
portlet and the correlated service to change the current language.

Jetspeed by default reads the header from the request and to change
the language is necessary to modify the browser settings.

How it works:
this service is similar to the original localization and it works in the
same way
until the use of the changeLanguage portlet
If a user changes the language from the portlet, the new language is set
and remains or he can change it again when he wants,
without the browser rules.
If it is necessary he can use not official languages ( minority languages)
that the browser doesn't use.
The service can be compiled with jdk 1.4.1 or 1.3.1 as described in the
code.
For the portlet it' s possible to view the label of the state or view the
flag of the country as described in the code.
If the developer wants to add other languages , he have to add the file "
JetspeedLocalization_newlanguage.properties"
in the jetspeed.jar and add the link " cL=newlanguage" in a
contructorHtml.java

After compile put the classes injetspeed\WEB-INF\classes\ , the
language.xreg in the folder conf

To start the service comment the original service
#services.LocalizationService.classname=org.apache.turbine.services.localiza
tion
and add the follow string
services.LocalizationService.classname=org.apache.jetspeed.services.customlo
calization.JetspeedLocalizationService
and comment the original tool
#tool.request.l10n=org.apache.turbine.services.localization.LocalizationTool
and add the follow string
tool.request.l10n=org.apache.jetspeed.services.customlocalization.CustomLoca
lizationTool

Enjoy it

how to refresh

2002-09-26 Thread Massimiliano Dessi

Hi all,

any idea how I can refresh from code the page
depending on some variables into the request.
I'll try to explain better:
I'm trying to change the language in the page and it happens successfully
but only after a refresh. It sets the new language but it build the page before
the new setting takes effect, and only if I click again anywhere the browser
shows the new language.
I try the same thing from a template(invoking an action) and from a portlet
with the same bad result!!
Thanks

How can obtain the actual url in the layout templatel?

2002-08-28 Thread Massimiliano Dessi

Hi
Is it possible reading the actual url inside a layout velocity template?

example
localhost:8080/jetspeed/portal/user/turbine/page/default.psml/js_pane/P-eff026a758-10002

$data.getID() in a velocity template (default.vm) is not accessible,

with $data.getPageSessionId()  obtain user/turbine/html/default.psml
the part /js_pane/P-eff026a758-10002 wich can obtained?

Does it need extends the VelocityPortlet to put in the context this information?

thanks in advanced

Subject: Improved WebSurfPortlet

I have found a problem with websurferportlet. When
navigating the web with other portlets, i lose last link visited with
websurferportlet. To resolve this problem, i have put the element returned by
the websurferportlet in the session, identified
with the 'id' of xreg.
In addiction, now every portlet reads from the
Rundata request, to control if it has been called.
If it is has been called, then follows the
next link and puts in session the new element overwriting the previous.

If not, the portlet returns his last element
in session, instead of opening a new connection, reading the html, parsing it
and returning a new element.
