[JGrass-devel] could JGrass create an unreadable GRASS location?
Dear all, I have a very strange JGrass problem. I create a grass location using JGrass. These are the geospatial parameters: epsg: 23033 north: 4215885 south: 4161885 east: 327145 west: 273145 nsres: 400 ewres: 400 Then I run some simple grass commands using JGrass console. First I import http://n2.nabble.com/file/n2373918/sr5.zip this shapefile: v.in.ogr.exe -o dsn=c:/tmp/sr5.shp output=sr5 min_area=0.0001 snap=-1 Then a vector to raster command: v.to.rast.exe input=sr5 output=sr5 use=attr type=area layer=1 column=landuse value=1 rows=4096 Then I try to add to my map this raster GRASS object, but JGrass is not able to add it to my map. In this movie you can view this behavior in action: http://bit.ly/KdE9J I have used "jgrass-1.1.x-build20090221152118-win32.win32.x86.zip". [JGrass-devel] About GRASS, uDig and GeoTiff
Dear all, probably this is not the only place where I should have write, but JGrass is a bridge between GRASS and uDig and for this reason I'm writing here. I have a geotiff http://n2.nabble.com/file/n2254422/file1.tif file I'm able to load in JGrass. Then I import it with JGrass in a grass mapset, and I make some JGrass works with it (i.e. slope calculation). At the end I export it as geotiff. I make this because this format gives me the opportunity to exchange and archive simply the result of my geospatial process. The problem is that it's impossible to open in JGrass http://n2.nabble.com/file/n2254422/from_jgrass.tif this JGrass exported geotiff file. To open it properly, I must use gdal libraries: > gdal_translate -a_srs epsg:23033 input.tif output.tif There are several http://n2.nabble.com/file/n2254422/file1%2Bvs%2Bfrom_jgrass.pdf differences between these metainfo files: that one that makes it impossible to open the last file in uDig is the lack of this raw: AUTHORITY["EPSG","23033"]. I know this is a problem related to standards, and it's in some way more related to GRASS. Do you have some advice to solve this unpleasant incompatibility. Is there in this list some GRASS experienced user or some geotiff experienced user? I think that to solve this problem would be a benefit for grass, udig and jgrass users. [JGrass-devel] grass { r.shaded.relief.bat map=demED50 shadedmap=rilievoOmbreggiato2 altitude=30 azimuth=270 zmult=1 scale=1 units=meters }
Hi all, I'm trying to use r.shaded.relief inside jgrass console, but it's not an exe file (I'm windows) and probably I must add some parameters to run it properly. Some advice? I'm not absolutely a GRASS master, but I understand that it's possible to create a location (and a permanent mapset) also outside a mapset (I have tested my v.in.ogr example with location parameter). Moreover imagine I need to create an user interface for r.slope.aspect command in JGrass, and that I want to distribute it as a plugin inside a specialized JGrass installer. Does the installer then must create a start mapset (it will have a specific projection systems)? And if I want to use my plugin with layers with different projection systems? [JGrass-devel] JGrass settings and Mapset creation
Hi all, in grass preferences of JGrass I have two GRASS parameters: Mapset and GRASS. If I set not properly them it's impossible to use JGrass console. I have a question about Mapset parameter. If I not set it I have: ERROR: LOCATION << null/null >> not available I have the same error also if I add the "location" parameter in v.in.ogr command (it forces the creation of new location, and permanente mapset): v.in.ogr.exe dsn=G:/UTMED50/prep.shp output=toponimi2 min_area=0.0001 type=point snap=-1 location=prova Then it seems that a Mapset must exist before the launch of a grass command. But it seems strange to me. Imagine I need to create an user interface for r.slope.aspect command in JGrass, and I want to distribute it as a plugin inside a specialized JGrass installer. Does the installer must create also a mapset location (and then a specific projection systems)? And if I want to use my plugin with layers with different projection systems? Probably it's a stupid question, but I do not find an answer. I have all the plugins active as you can see in the attached file "jgrass3.png". I think I have jgrass plugins in the workspace because I have the possibility to add a JGrass database layer. Re: [JGrass-devel] setup problems
Hi Andrea, Andrea Antonello-3 wrote: > > Hi Gabriele, > the tutorial is a work in progress which two other guys are writing > up. I am not 100% sure. > once again thank you for the wiki work. I have tried too to setup the development environment and running jgrass in windows. I have no problem to run uDig (point 5 of the wiki), but I'm not sure to be able to run properly JGRASS. In the wiki instructions I can read that it's necessary to change the target platform. There is a screenshot and it's seems it's necessary to select only the udik-sdk/plugins folder and deselect the eclipse plugin and jgrass-extra-sdk plugin folders. It seems to me strange to be necessary to deselect this last folder to run JGrass. Am I wrong? Moreover if I deselect jgrass-extra-sdk plugin folder, I will obtain a uDig in which I can not add a JGrass Database Layer. Then there are the instructions to install subclipse and to set SVN for JGRASS. I have run it, without problem. I have svn set, and I chose jgrass-extra-sdk plugin and udik-sdk/plugins folders as target platform, and finally I have clicked on run button. I have obtained a running uDig, and I have the possibility to add JGRASS database layer, but I do not have the jgrass console button. I think I must setup grass environment using udig grass/console preferences. Do I must download some specific version of grass for windows? Is there some specific installations instructions?
