I have an implementation which works for topics (add, list, describe, delete), configs (set/update, delete, describe), consumergroups (describe, list), log dirs (describe, list). We have a spike implementation which uses the new AdminClient. We'd like to publish in the foreseeable future and if you don't mind I'd like to pick up this task, integrate your work and continue with this.
