[Jmol-users] Glitch in Jmol tutorial

2013-09-03 Thread Greg Edwards
Hi all,

There seems to be a small glitch in the very last animation example of the
excellent tutorial at ...

http://www.callutheran.edu/Academic_Programs/Departments/BioDev/omm/scripting/molmast.htm

The final display of the flashing H bonds in the DNA disappears off screen.
It can be recovered by a +/- 90 degree rotate about X to swing it up into
view. Ie. click and drag down with mouse by a couple of inches in the
viewport.

Possibly some aspect of Jmol has changed a bit since the tutorial was last
tested.

Tried to report to *mar...@clunet.edu *but seems no reply.

Hope this is worthwhile. It's a very good tutorial, would be good to keep
it 100%. (or find my mistake)

Cheers.

Re: [Jmol-users] Firefox change

2013-09-03 Thread Simone Sturniolo
Thanks a lot! Did this happen two weeks ago? Because that's when we started
having trouble as Firefox randomly stopped working with JMol at the CASTEP
workshop... it was driving me mad. Is there any way to do this change
through Javascript that you know of? I fear not, but if there is
something... thanks!

Simone

[Jmol-users] Firefox change

2013-09-03 Thread Robert Hanson
Might be old news, but there's a change in Firefox with version 23.0.1:

If you want to use a local signed or unsigned applet
(file://.../JmolAppletSigned.jar, for instance), then you need to set

*   security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy;false
*
since the default is true. Something like the issue here:

Yes!

We would need first to make a list of those to-do tasks, then fill the content
(scripts) and then it woud make sense to have a "How to" title and prominent
link.

Isn't the recycling corner
(http://wiki.jmol.org/index.php/Recycling_Corner#Reusable_scripts)
already supposed to provide this?

[Jmol-users] How-to wiki page

2013-09-03 Thread Bob Hanson
Any interest is starting a simple How-To page on the wiki for any number of
simple to hard tasks? Could serve as a script or function source. Just search,
cut, and paste.

Volunteers?
