Here's what trac says:

Always and everything has same reason. Server is overloaded and sometimes 
connections abort (especially SSL connections, but also other internal 
ones, database access, ... - i.e. most time resource hungry connections).

It is already planned to switch the server.

Good news. The downtimes start to get a little annoying: Currently I 
cannot commit:

   svn: Server sent unexpected return value (200 OK) in response to 
MKACTIVITY request for '/svn/!svn/act/fd14fec2-11cd-40ea-88b6-dac48a886378'

Also I had to check out new because I got

   svn: XML data was not well-formed

on update of each of my previous check outs.


By the way: I can only use https, when I'm logged in on trac. Would it 
be possible get it to work with plain http? This way it is faster and I 
need not accept the invalid certificate all the time... :)
