[JOYnet] Rexband UAE trip
Hello all! Today I have an update on the Rexband trip to UAE. 8 members of the team are here. They are Eddy chettan, Manoj chettan, Beena Chechi, Shelton, Linton, Saju Cherian, Stefan and Joji. They are already practicing for the programs at Jomys home at Dubai. The 5 members from UAE are at work today and will join others in the evening to practice together. Tomorrow will be the first program at Abu Dhabi. The show is fully is sold out! The program is from 9 to11 in the evening (UAE time GMT + 4) at the St. Josephs church. Now this according to Eddy Chettan will be the harishree for Rexband as they are starting a long tour with this program which will include UAE, USA and Canada. On 24th Rexband will perform at Sharjah St. Michaels church. This will be from 8 to 10 in the evening (UAE time). Here too the tickets are selling thick and fast. On 25th the final program in UAE will be at Dubai St. Marys church again from 8 to 10 in the evening (UAE time). The band did try to come in its full strength but due to certain reasons we had to restrict the members from 20 to 8. This I am informed will not affect the program as the guys left out are from the technical support team, choreographers and the Malayalam singers. These areas will be covered by the JY here in UAE itself. The band will leave UAE early morning 26th back to Madras with 5 members who were supposed to join from UAE. These 5 members will have to present themselves at the US consulate in Madras to get their visas stamped. Now we need prayers support from all of you for the smooth sailing of these programs. The specific needs will be 1. For the co-operation of the church authorities and the other groups and communities in these three places where the band will be playing and more so for their understanding in the activities of Rexband, its need and the real spirit of this God filled ministry of Jesus Youth. 2. UAE being a Muslim country the Rexband can face some opposition during its short stint here. Please pray that the tour of band to be free of hassles from authorities such as the Islamic authorities (as the programs are Christ centred), municipality (as the programs are in the night..the sound), government etc. Thank you Take care and God bless Abraham Fujairah, UAE. Dear All, Praise the Lord, Hardly one month to go for our first international Jesus youth gathering, let me share with you a small piece of treasure. It is letter (scroll) written to Pope John Paul 2 on 07/09/1996 when we were studying for Engineering in TKMCE, Kollam. Reply from Pope is also attached together with it(http://www.jytkmce.net/pope.htm ). Think to be one of the first letter correspondence between JY and the Holy Father. ** Our Dear Papa, Most loving greetings in the name of the Lord from all of us here. Hope and pray that our great shepherd is doing fine in the care and grace of our Lord. We are members of a prayer group JESUS YOUTH in an Engineering College in Kerala, India. Jesus Youth is the youth wing of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the Church of Kerala. Our prayer group was started in 1987. Inspite of the stiff resistance from the college authorities (as our college being governed by a Muslim management) by the powerful work of the Holy Spirit for the past years the Lord have enabled this fellowship to motivate many to be disciples of Christ Jesus in today#8217;s world. Now the Holy Spirit is moving so fast in our college. As the Bible says in JOHN 10:16, we realize the need of the hour, as #8216;There are other sheep which belongs to me that are not in my sheepfold. I must bring them too, they will listen to my voice and they will become one flock with one Shepherd (John10:16)#8217; to fulfil! l our dream of the complete evangelization in our campus and also a wide vision of world evangelization before the 3rd millennium. We have a general group gathering on every Wednesdays, during the evening 4 to 6pm. Our prayer group also consists of two spiritually strong ministries-intercession and music ministry. We have got a nice chapel [Little Flowers Convent] for which your holiness have monetarily helped us where we have our daily Holy mass and our fellowship prayer meetings. Routine retreats and other renewal programs are being conducted every year for spiritual growth. During our free time i.e., when we are free from college examinations we conduct out reaches to nearby colleges and other charitable institutions like old age homes and spread the Word of God and share the love he showered upon us. Papa we join your holiness in all your prayers for complete evangelization of the world. We youths have the potential to bring the winds of change in our society and proclaim Jesus Christ-The king of Kings and Lord of Lords to the ends of the world, we also part in your sorrows and moments of joy. Do remember us, our prayer group and our country in your prayers. As our state is so called God#8217;s own county many renewal activities are going on in a faster pace, with many miracles happening and proclaiming Jesus Christ is Lord. Do pray that our prayer group strengthen spiritually in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and be true witness for Christ in our daily life. Craving for your blessings your holiness remain the same. hello Fatima, Thank you for sharing this with us. I was going through the same trouble and I thought it was because of my pride and kept praying to Jesus and Mary to give me humility. You also tend to get angry when you come back from work and your parents ask you how was your day at work, you suddenly feel irritated and you just say it was ok and don't talk a lot until after a long time.
