Hi Jennifer, Jason & JY's, Interesting discussion ! What if a person disobeys the very first law (i.e. prays to an idol) and dies with his faith in the idol. Is there forgiveness still ? Concerning this, there is this interesting chapter in the Bible: Maccabees Chapter 12: v32-50. In short, Judas offered prayers and sacrifices (like 12000 drachmas of silver to Jerusalem) for the sins of the dead. and verse 49 says: It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins. [JOYnet] Sharing my experience
Dear friends, I would like to share this, my simple and yet so powerful ongoing experience: I have realized that in saying the Rosary slowly, reflecting on each mystery pertaining to each decade, has given me a deeper insight and understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ and Mother Mary (her love for Jesus, character (humility, .. .. ..). These powerful insights have transformed me to being stronger in areas of forgiveness, discernment, self control and others. It's an awesome experience that has led me to spending more and more time each day, reading the Bible, to know my Lord more. May Jesus Christ be manifest in fullness in our lives. Dear Friends, World Youth Day 2002 is just 2 weeks from today. Our 1st JesusYouth batch from India is already here in Toronto. The others and arriving on Jul 11th and 14th. Finally RexBand will be arriving on Jul 15th from US. A total of 54 people including 2 Priests and 1 Brother from India, 120 participants from USA and 5 from UK. All of us need your Prayer Support during these days. Few of my Joynet friends asked me what are the programs happening in Toronto. Here is the programs JesusYouth is involved. A Very Intriguing Thought = Jake, the rancher, went one day to fix a distant fence. The wind was cold and gusty and the clouds rolled gray and dense. As he pounded the last staples in and gathered tools to go, The temperature had fallen, the wind and snow began to blow. When he finally reached his pickup, he felt a heavy heart. From the sound of that ignition, he knew it wouldn't start. So Jake did what most of us would do if we had been there. He humbly bowed his balding head and sent aloft a prayer. As he turned the key for the last time, he softly cursed his luck. They found him three days later, frozen stiff in that old truck. Now Jake had been around in life and done his share of roaming. But when he saw Heaven, he was shocked -- it looked just like Wyoming! Of all the saints in Heaven, his favorite was St. Peter. (Now, this line ain! 't needed but it helps with rhyme and meter) So they sat and talked a minute or two, or maybe it was three. Nobody was keepin' score -- in Heaven time is free. "I've always heard," Jake said to Pete, "that God will answer prayer, But one time I asked for help, well, he just plain wasn't there." "Does God answer prayers of some, and ignore the prayers of others? That don't seem exactly square -- I know all men are brothers." "Or does he randomly reply, without good rhyme or reason? Maybe, it's the time of day, the weather or the season." "Now I ain't trying to act smart, it's just the way I feel. And I was wondering', could you tell me -- what the heck's the deal?!" Peter listened very patiently and when Jake was done, There were smiles of recognition, and he said, "So, you're the one!!" "That day your truck, it wouldn't start, and you sent your prayer a flying, You gave us all a real bad time, with hundreds of us trying." "A thousand angels rushed, to check the status of your file, But you know, Jake, we hadn't heard from you in quite a while." "And though all prayers are answered, and God ain't got no quota, He didn't recognize your voice, and started a truck in Minnesota." BETTER KEEP IN TOUCH! Dear Friends, I would like you to specially pray for the following two things. 1. Jose Fernandes whose father expired two weeks back is in a very difficult situation. He is asking us to pray for him and family very specially as he has a lot of stress and trouble now due to various reasons. Please pray for him specially. 2. There was no major violence in Ahmedabad for more than a month now. But there is going to be a Rathyatra (very big religious procession) on 12th, Friday which will be passing through the sensitive areas. People are really fearful as they expect trouble.
