Dear Jason, Praise the Lord. Jason,You have done a good job by tossing your reaction to IS SUICIDE SINFUL that appeared in two parts in the Joynet. Jason, God inspired many people through you and some of our Joynetters shared how they felt about Suicide. The facts and feelings about suicide that surfaced on the net is a great guidance. I do appreciate the sharing from Alfred Samji which helped to precipitate the feelings of yet others. Seena did a good job. The insight given by Dr. Mary Joseph who is a psychiatrist who works in the US is indeed a wonderful sharing and very informative too. I am touched to see how our people are interested ,informed and prepared Scripturally to seek ansers to their dilema like suicide.(If I missed anyone's name who shared on the issue of suicide, it is not intentional.) I think God is good and at the same time God is a just God. God doesn't like to punish people but who are we to judge His Justice and even mercy. One feels humble before the majesty of God and feels happy that such a loving God is our protector, guide , teacher and savior. Let us not sin again and again thinking that God will forgive. I like to invite people to keep sharing your feelings about the fear of suicide. If in case some of you think that you had a loved one or someone you knew, ended their lives in suicide, please tell us how you feel about that. The sharing from Jennifer was a good example as how she was affected when someone whom she knew decided to end life in suicide and indeed that sharing helped the saharing on the issue of Suicide, as I remember. Please tell us how such an event has precipitated different feelings in you and affected you emotionally, physically, and spirituality. He is a software engineer, forty years old, married to a beautiful woman much younger to himself. His wife is currently employed. Both are regular Sunday Christians. They have three children. Mr. Felix is currently unemployed. Problems surmounted and he started to contemplate on ending his life. Mr. Felix attended one of the Sunday Masses and the Word impacted him). Since then Mr. Felix decided to make an attempt to effect needed difference in life and attitudes didn't practice the law of God and he became an enemy of God. The enemies of God do not follow God's law/FON! DIV T. Rom 8.7. Felix lost inner peace and tranquility as he denied God's laws in life. Excessive human passions and sinful human nature controlled him. He did what human nature instructed him. He didn't practice the path of the Holy Spirit. He made the Holy Spirit sad. From a God fearing, faithful husband, he degraded to an adulterous husband. Thus he invited danger and death. Many of our people who commit suicide suffer from mental disorders and or depression. I think a good deal of them are caused by human error, such as sin, like in the case of Mr. Felix. They fail to spend time with God. Their hearts are not tuned to God. I have heard from many who committed grave sins, that they were depressed and some of them wanted to end their lives. Such people come from different walks of life. They could be professionals and or just ordinary people. Before God, there is no difference between professionals and un-professionals. Everyone is a professional in committing sins, if he or she breaks the Law of God Rom.8.7. Mr. Felix almost committed suicide proving what St Paul had to say if we live as our human nature wants us to do, we are going to die Rom 8.13.nbs! p; Mr. Felix said to his wife that he would jump from the moving car to end his life.
