Hello all! There is something more interesting written by St Ignatius in the 16th century. A book called "Spiritual Exercises". Here he asks us to have a "Colloquy" with our Lord. Praise the Lord We are entering the second day of the youth retreat.There were 22 of them yesterday. It was a first time experience for many of them. We need to intercede for this young group ranging from 7 to 22. Today it started off with a discyussion about death. Some of them expressed that they were not afraid of death but were sad to depart their dear and near ones. Some have not seen someone die before their eyes and hence does no know the pain of death. Please intercede for this group and lift them up to our father in heaven so that they may know the Love of the father and be filled with his spirit, because the spirit is what reveals everything to us both of this world and that to come. May the spirit of the Lord anoint them and their parents and all around them so that they turn to the Lord and surrender their lives to him. "All their fear is about the fear of the last day in this world : Sirach 40:2. The title of the chapter is "THE PLIGHT OF MANKIND" Satan is all out to even take away the fear of death from the young ones so that they would be in state of blindness. Praise the Lord. We had a very good and deep discussion on Vastu Shastra. Personally I could learn more on this topic. Let me pen my yesterday's experience. This week I was little confused regarding my vacation trip to Kerala as it is due on February. I want to go during that time as my daughter's first birthday comes in February, but I may need to go again maybe in the mid of next year for personal matters. I was in confusion thinking maybe skip the February trip otherwise I have to find my own ticket. Yesterday I got a phone call from my bank announcing I have won a raffle draw among the bank's credit card users. I couldn't believe my ears when she told me what the prize was. "A return flight ticket to my home country' Yesterday was a joyful day for me as I received many greetings from my office staff. I was thanking my Lord, as I believe this is a special gift from my God. The greatest tragedy was people started finding the reason behind it. A Catholic came to me and said I won this draw because of the position of my 'NEW' seat in the office. (Again Vastu Shastra came). He clarified this by saying three years before the one who was sitting in the same seat won a BMW car in a raffle draw. Most of the Hindu's said that my star & time is good & it is in correct harmony. Some wanted share with me to try Dubai duty free coupon. (The prize money is one million US dollar).Some was praising of my luck. The story goes on like this. I knew it was my God's gift to me, nothing more than that. Suddenly a thought struck me. If God grant us something he also expects something. I realized what it was. It was nothing other than 'HONOR'. I started moving round the office answering them, it is not luck or my star or time or seating position but it was my living God whom I worship that granted me this gift. I got another opportunity to honor & speak about my God who is powerful over the worldly powers & provider to his people's need. Three years back just before my marriage I won a necklace through a raffle draw from the jewelers from where we purchased marriage gold. I heard lot of people saying to me "Lucky couples", but I knew we were not lucky but blessed. When God grants us something he expects something & that is nothing other than honor to his name. I believe the real challenge is to give honor to God in day to day life. We see in Act 12:23 the death of Herod. "The angel of the Lord struck Herod as he did not return honor to God, and he died eaten by worms" When someone asks us 'How are you?'. We may say ' I'm fine.' Dear JYs I would like to mention something regarding this mail. First of all I would like to apologise to my dear Friend Sheril in case I do offend her with this mail. However since this mail has appeared a number of times on JY I would like to state that the whole NASA incident is an absolute HOAX. True our Lord is the Lord of Science and whatever is discovered is actually his revelation to us. However sometimes as a matter of overzeal for the Lord people do tend to fabricate matter intending to lead others to him. Sometimes it works. However in many cases when they do find out that it was all a bunch of baloney in the very first place then their faith does get deflated like air from a baloon. It is such instances that we should be aware of before people crop up something so unnaturally untrue. Our Lord is the Lord of truth and he doesnt needs lies so that others may follow him. Hi Friends, I feel that the mail forwarded to our dear friend Sheril is a Hoax mail, i had heard this same story around 10 years back when in school. Some Sunday school teacher had told us the same. Let us understand that the word of God is not a science text book and that we dont need a NASA or any such organisation to prove or disprove it. Let me relate something more funny than the mail we have recieved. Do you know that the Russians were the first pioneers of the space program and that one of the first things they did when they put man into space was to search for god. When they couldnt find him they were further strengthened in their atheistic beliefs. All this occurs from a wrong and literal reading of scripture texts which are a common phenomenon in the US and Europe. Yes The Bible is the Truth in matters concerning our salvation, but not neccesarily in other matters like names, places, event history , numbers, dates, ages etc.( DEI VERBUM) They are not important for our salvation and need not be correct. November 18, 2002 Dedication of the Basillicas of St. Peter and Paul St. Peters is probably the most famous church in Christendom. From the time the basilicas were first built until the empire crumbled under barbarian invasions, the two churches, although miles apart, were linked by a roofed colonnade of marble columns. Comment: Peter, the rough fisherman whom Jesus named the rock on which the Church is built, and the educated Paul, reformed persecutor of Christians, Roman citizen and missionary to the Gentiles, are the original odd couple. [JOYnet] about JOYnet - Important
Hello JOYnetters, I have something important to share with you all about JOYnet. We are fast growing as a virtual community and a loving global family. Currently we have a JOYnet team to support and co-ordinate our activities. This team we have formed two years back. Now this team has completed two years and is due for a re-constitution now. At this time, I request all of you to pray for JOYnet and for the formation of a new co-ordinating team. We all know that JOYnet is a very powerful ministry in building the kingdom of God. During the last four years this network has helped in bringing all of us on a common platform. Some new initiatives has started from this. JOYnet helped a lot in our Jesus Youth activities globally. Now, it is time to move ahead more focussed. With more clarity in our vision and in a more organised way. Along with the new Jesus Youth interneational team, we need to find more ways to help out in global evangelisation. Please pray for these intentions. Start discerning what God is telling you about this network. How can we do the evangelisation more effectively thru JOYnet?? Sit with our Lord for this intention.
