Dear joynetters, May lord Forgive me for the sin of neglect. There was a point which i noted when i was reading this virus mail. 1. The mail said the actual virus wont be detected in the Antivirus so one has to install the patch. 2. Later part it says when you install the patch, your antivirus will give you a warning(about the same virus). Point 1 & 2 are contradicting. Hence i didnt install the patch, also i'm reading my mails from companys network behind a firewall. So suspected virus will be removed and i dont need to do anything. I didnt send this mail earlier 1. Because i was too busy that day due to some deadlines. 2. I thought it was sent by Joseph sebastian. I didnt want to offend him. 3. I thought people might notice this diff and might not install it. sorry to all once again for my neglect. I'll try to be more alert next time. Hi Jys, nobody used the josephs acct to send the mail.. this is the feature of a worm... it will auto send it self with any misleading text.. anyway the virus will not spread thru joynet thru this mail since all attachments are removed on this list.. Hi, I believe the new hotmail.com version should counter the problem of junk mail a.k.a "spam" But incase you are interested in solving this problemread on... Well, incase some of you are still worried about being spammed, here are some pointers to be remembered. * Be careful when surf the internet, some innocent sites that send greeting cards or jokes, might actually be storing your email id for either sending you junk mail, or selling your email id along with others as a database to such ruthless marketers! * Try not to fall for "Chain Letters" - any email that has a sentence like "Please forward this to ALL your friends" or "Please send this to all your friends in your address book"> - just hit the delete button! Nearly ALL those stories are made up... they sound so convincing or innocent - BUT WATCH OUT! All kind of propanganda are just some of the many ways Spammers are trying to collect email ids... * As Sijo was saying, many emails just can't be blocked... these are caused my email programmes designed to send such bulk email with a false id each time it is sent. * Last and final resort is to get another email account. Compared to Hotmail.com - Yahoo is more spam proof.
