You found that this line is triggering the error:
$(menu_node).css({"left":"-"+total_widths+"px"});
But you haven't told us what the value of the total_widths variable at this
point in the code. The content of that variable will reveal the problem.
Also, there are a few things you can do to optimize and simplify your code.
But let's get your bug sorted out first.
