Jsp to retrieve asp session variables

2000-11-09 Thread Lesley Eadie

Hi has anyone out there any knowledge of jsp's interfacing with asp's.
I'm working on a site which has to share information, such as logins, with
another site. The problem is that our site is running jsp servlets ejb and
the other site is all asp. How do I get around the sharing problem between
the two different implementation techniques.
Thanks in advance

2000-10-24 Thread Lesley Eadie

Hi everyone good afternoon

How do I post from a form to a jsp that has to not only display the
information from the form but to display that information in part of a
frameset. Em... I didn't explain that well did I?
My form is in one frame - when it is posted the webpage has to split into 4
frames and put the jsp that has been posted to into one of those frames.
help required pls - thanks in advance

Generated forms from jsp

2000-10-06 Thread Lesley Eadie

Morning all!
Hope u r well

I am generating a form in jsp that can have many different kinds of hidden
fields but has some generic fields that are constrained by each other.

I have to check these generic fields with javascript before submitting. my
submit button calls javascript to check and then submit. I have a problem
with submitting from javascript - error is function not supported by this
object.

My question is - Has anyone else had this problem and does the jsp page have
to mention the existence of the form before it is generated to call submit
from a javascript function.

cheers peace

Re: JSP with Visual Age for Java

2000-08-15 Thread Lesley Eadie

You can change the version of JSP you use in VAJ 3.0 - 3.02.
Go to the folder default_host/default_app/servlets/ in your VAJ director
(using somwehere under IBMJava) and open the XML file default_app.webapp.
In here change the reference to the page compile servlet under JSP Support
Description to
com.ibm.ivj.jsp.runtime.JspDebugServlet
This should allow you to use JSP 1.0 in VAJ.
Hope this helps!  :-)

Re: Please suggest... JSP & TextArea ..

2000-07-27 Thread Lesley Eadie

Hi

You can get the jsp to call itself with a different parameter based on the
contents of the workid field. all you have to do is set the field to point
to a javascript function which will recall the jsp with the new value and
populate the other fields based on the database results.

example javascript function:-

function getNewPage(newPageParam){
location.href = "page.jsp?param=" + newPageParam;
// (or parent.[targetFrame].location.href =  "page.jsp?param=" +
newPageParam;)
}

Hope this is what you require and helps :-)

Has anyone got any idea how to insert a message say like
"Your request is being processed"
while a JSP page is away doing it's business?
All suggestions welcome and thanked for greatly.

Re: changes to Java Bean not accessable to JSP

Have you added the new methods tp the remote interface? If not that could
be the problem, I has this error a wee while ago and that fixed it. :-)

Re: Returning java.sql.ResultSet from an EJB

2000-07-06 Thread Lesley Eadie

hi Cj

why don't you wrap the rows from your query in an object and vector like you
mentioned then use a helper class to generate the html you need. This way
you only need to pass a String back to the JSP.

Re: Image Size

2000-07-04 Thread Lesley Eadie

Hi Branko

I am trying to create an image (charts etc) from data retrieved from a
database, save this image as a gif file on my server, then generate html img
tags to send the image to the client. I am using JSP and EJB. The beans
handle data retrieval and image, html generation. The JSP has to display
the results from the client queries.

Thanks your a darling!

Your set method has to be an array to pick up all categories. Sorry for
annoying you if it already is. :-)
